  1. It's not what you've got, it's how you use it!

400:1 doesn't automatically mean account meltdown, it's how you use it that matters :)

Hey TZ, I bet on 19 using 400:1, when can I collect :p

Now we're getting to the bottom of it!

Consistently profitable trading does not involve taking such high risks as you have taken in your trials,

Yes ,correct if advantage exist atleast 1% and high intensity of trading .

But not exist by retail in forex.

Do you profitable after 1000 operations ,or only after 20 ?
    ######################################

what you did in essence was reckless gambling therefore you cannot possibly use those statistics and results and compare them to (forex) trading.

Contrary to popular belief trading forex is not a zero-sum game,

You are false .Trading with stock teoreticaly not zero summ game ,as value would created from company .

Commoditiy and forex trading create no any value
    ####################################

Ask any competent trader or Harward MBA

I imagine there were thousands of statistics, theories, and skeptics preaching about why the Wright brothers could never get their plane off the ground!

Correct ,but in zero summe game ,where retail payed spread
all great win(occasionaly can be) related only to game theory

Top Gambler and professional in stock (VP of Pacifix exchange)as K.Uston found situation ,where advantage is small
    but exist .
    ####################################

Look it's simple, if you're so sure about your theories then subject them to a practical test, only then will you be able to say they are proved. Until then they remain just theories based on nothing more than manipulated and unrelated statistics.

Out of interest where are you from ssss? I'm in the UK

Hamburg ,if you in U.K . try to use hotspotfx ,this have made
on author better impression as all another forex broker
Hotspotfx is pure agent of principal .

  6. You need to analyze the numbers in a bit more detail for any statistics to mean anything. What percentage of people who trade with AMTD and OXPS are experienced traders? What percentage of people who trade with retail bucketshops are total novices and gamblers? It's the same as the 95% losing stats, no-one bothers to analyze who makes up the 100%, the stats mean nothing without that information.
I'm not sure the trading intensity or frequency is relevant in this context is it.

If you're asking whether a consistently profitable trader maintains that consistency over a large sample of trades then the answer would be yes, otherwise he couldn't really be considered consistent.

The 'value' is in the actual currency itself versus another currency, and it's that never-ending change in value which provides the opportunity for speculation. Use the cake analogy, there is no cake in forex to make it a zero-sum game. Forex is just one mega-long never-ending Swiss Roll ;)

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm happy where I am and have no desire to trade in the 'real' market. The bucketshop I trade with is reasonably honest and fills everything I throw at him usually at the price I asked for, why would I want to change? Besides that, he sends me an Xmas card every year!

  9. Promotion? Of what? Sorry, I don't understand your point. Do you mean them sending me an Xmas card is promotion? You haven't seen their Xmas cards have you, believe me they're not much of a promotion!

I guess it depends on your definition of zero-sum but in forex 'total sum' is not quantifiable. If you can't quantify total sum then how can you say forex is zero-sum
