Im a CTA(almost 2 yrs now) and have absolutely no need for CFA certification( aside from the fact that I don't qualify since I only have a 2 yr assoc degree). Even if I did have a bachelors degree, I wouldn't bother getting CFA cert,.... for what? Just to have the designation?...its a waste of time. If your pulling in good returns as a trader then dont waste your time with CFA. Better to dedicate time to perfecting your trading skills to pull in higher returns.
If you're an independent trader managing your own investments you won't qualify. That's why I may never qualify even though I spent 3 years studying hard to pass the 3 levels !
