They're very conscious of the fact that he's running for the United States Presidency. The key here in the Hush Money trial is that Trump has denied his sexual encounter and payment to her to be silent for many years with Stormy Daniels for the purpose it "could have/should have" impacted the voting decision of many in his voting base...the evangelicals before the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election. In my opinion, had he just admitted to fucking her and then paying her to be quiet about the fuck...America probably would not have cared about the payment in October 2016 just one month before the 2016 Presidential election.
