Any alternative to Prophet.net charts?

  1. What a total drag. I've always liked prophet.net java charts better than stockcharts.com. Been using it a loooong time and hate to see it go.

  2. Sierrachart seems quite different from prophet.net java chart, seems like i have no choice but to subscribe to investool for the prophet.net charts

another java based online chart is at www.prorealtime.com.

it's free for end-of-day, a little pricey for real time. I really like the way their charts look. check it out.

Agreed, the charting capabilities at Prohet.net are excellent.
Hopefully, the migration to Investools will be equally as good.
My other concern has to do with watch list maintenance. The "bulk add" feature was amazing. As I am constantly building and harvesting multiple lists the loss of this feature will be catastrophic.[ Im a slow typist] Desperately seeking alternatives.
Does anyone have any suggestions where I can find this capabilitiy. Thanks for the help.

  6. Got an email notice that they are shutting down mid March now. Went to Investools, to Investor Relations, which leads to Ameritrade

    http://www.amtd.com/investors/contactus.cfm)

who now own them. Gave them some feedback re shutting down prophet.net. Told them that it served as excellent advertising, and that the so-called guided tours available to the product via Investools didn't offer the hands-on, complete trials that people want, and the 30-day free offer is too cumbersome for someone wanting to do a quick evaluation.

I agree, the Investools charts are not the same as the Java charts. They're very pretty, but as I recall, they don't allow quick line drawing, among other flaws.

    Hi,
Newbie here....I too had "withdrawal" pains from the Prophet shutdown that I had been accessing thru OptionsXpress. Well, OptionsXpress have developed their own "Streaming FlexCharts" and their tech depart have been impressive in the support department, both from symbols and charting tools.....I feel almost back to normal. Here's a link sample chart....but I am not sure if it will post..

This may be of some use, click on the Interactive Charts button:

    http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/

It has a similar Java Chart applet as compared with Prophet.net. I don't believe it has the real-time streaming capabilities though...

Yes dude, there is. I'm also sad to see Prophet.net go away. I used them for live trading for a few years and made some money. I was also using Quote.com live charts, which I found way back in year 2000. The site helped me a lot, as I finally had an epiphany moment that I was able to 'read' a chart. Here's the link: http://www.quote.com/livecharts/livecharts.action I hope this helps. stox/

  10. good ol' livecharts still lives. That thing was great in the 90's. Worked great until they introduced QCharts which was the real deal.
