Thats awesome, Congrats! I guess that means if you come back on here to bitch about Anvil, it will be either because: 1) you dont really use Anvil to begin with 2) LightSpeed sucked and you chose to eat your words (in private, of course) One less clueless person for Assent to waste time on. Cheers!
didn't go down. just had freezes and quote/prints were off in all NYSE stocks this morning. Bob/land/speedboy, ect. whoever else if you didn't have probs, might just of been u were in a different stock. All my naz were good, no issues. But nyse, absolutely the worst. guy lost 2k in mer in my office on a freeze. he was pissed for 1 sec, but then just moved along.
Hm, now is that really fair to call Anvil a POS? maybe if you traded with Bright (check em balance sheets!) and paid a higher rate, these issues wouldn't happen. if Assent ran bootcamps like bright, they'd probably have less problems if they had a software orientation part like Bright. gimmie a B, R, I, G, H, T lol, ET never fails for a good laugh.
anvil's been all good lately. But it is a little deceptive. Seems that its been stable just cause we haven't had too many huge market spikes past 2 weeks. just past few days. and then some problems. I guess it makes sense right? I mean news comes out in abk/mbi, market goes from its lows to its highs (pretty absurd) thats a pretty big move, like an fomc. so what can you really expect? but the morning issues...him...its the open...its guess thats like a mini fomic... and u know, why is it that folks in futures don't have these issues? I tried to say it was just less symbols/ but i don't know what i'm talking about. (buddy traded futures where they went all out on desk fees and he's like, "wow, equities platforms blow if they always mess up during fomc/news" in that he never did in futures. any of you equities broker dealer cheerleaders out there have any explanations? (doesn't matter who you cheer for, lol, anyone will do)
Assent tech support was notified about the complaint on ET. I will not mention any names of who notified Assent or who responded. So do not ask me ... The response was basically that competitors bash themselves out on forums and they will not participate on such tactics.
dealing with angry ignorant folks...that life would suck. Explaining problems suck. The genesis folks did that in the thread, then a bunch of folks got on there and started bashing genesis...which pretty much ended that thread. If I was a tech guy I'd probably drink myself into oblivion every night and then cry my face into a pillow. I don't know why folks like bright or genesis mangement have handles on here in ET. they get so muck flak! it'd just be better if you were one of the biggest bd's in the industry and represented your business with random handles, lol. But come on....who would ever do that? probably better to just let folks like don come on here and get bashed to no end day after day. But I figure Don's a smart guy, and probably realizes that customer service via representation on ET says something about the kind of firm he runs. that or he just likes taking crap from random firms.
no major problems today one thing though. high priced volatile stocks like bidu/goog/fslr/ma they freeze. alot. Easiest way to see this is if your buy/sell adj box lags, or if you have instant keys to throw out bids offers and it loads the wrong price. It really shows in these stocks, unlike rimm/aapl/ where theres hardly a spread, or something reallly slow like C. How many people does this affect? probably not that many. Now aside from that, everything was fine today. I mean yeah we froze a couple times here and there, but from what I understand, the people at Assent aren't just sitting back and going, "yup, this is as good as our platform can run". Sometimes it takes a little time, but I have no doubt the issues that have been affecting certain people (right or wrong) will be resolved given how long Assent has been in the industry.
