Antonin Scalia: There Are 'Undoubtedly' Limits To A Person's Right To Carry Guns

Discussion in 'Politics' started by Free Thinker, Jul 31, 2012.

  1. What an unbelievably stupid comment. yeah that's somehow worse than running for your life in a crowd hoping that the arbitrary rounds meant to kill you and everyone else, don't.

How dare someone try to save their life and the lives of others by fighting back.. SOMEONE COULD GET HURT!

What would your advice be to the people in the theater? Something along the lines of "well, just close your eyes and pretend it isn't happening." :p

My ET brethren you, as well as I, can yak yak yak about this subject till the cows come home.
But, here's the bottom line whether we like it or not:

Gun control is coming to the USA.

I don't know if it's "sooner" or "later", but it's on the way.

    I suspect it's "sooner".

A further/better discussion might be: What will you do if the government tells you to turn in some of your weapons? Bear in mind, there will be harsh penalties for those who don't cooperate.

So it's better to have several (many?) shooters in a dark and crowded theater during fear and pandemonium?

  4. talking about stupid. have you considered what would happen in a dark theater with bullets flying. its kind of hard to hit a target in the dark.

and what do you think would happen to you if you pulled a gun to shoot the shooter and you happened to kill an innocent bystander. you would get arrested as well you should. if you killed someone you would deserve a long stretch in prison.
cant you guys think ahead any further than you can see? you would be a terrible chess player.

You mean several more college students with orange hair shooting into the unarmed seated crowd?

Or more movie goers shooting back toward the flaming liberal ass hole who ignored the "no guns" sign on the door?

  6. Yes, a police officer or a soldier would try to neutralize the shooter. Some citizens might have also.

So the movie goers also ignored the "no guns" sign? Got it.

(I still can't believe they let you operate heavy machinery.)

  8. if it does it will because of the nra. their refusal to consider even common sense restrictions on people who should not own guns will be the cause.
the only thing that could get guns banned in america is a rash of mass murders like this one. maybe gun owners should police their own to head off such a possibility.

That didn't seem to stop the guy with orange hair from killing 12 and wounding what, 70 others?

Cops do exactly just that, FIVE times more often than armed citizens. But don't let the facts get in the way of your fantasy.
never seems to happen to the cops guilyy of it, or should the states drones get a free pass?
