Look, guns are fine, I have several. Maybe only about 500 rounds of ammunition, because I don't feel paranoid about attack, I live in a great neighborhood, and I'm not afraid of the U.S. military either. Even though I've been in Europe for a few months, I feel my family is safe back at home. But there should be some limit to what people can buy. I know people from my gun range that I'm more scared of than any on the street mugger. They use their guns as some sort of right of passage. I don't think I have ever had to bring up my gun ownership, since it's not how I define myself.
You opinion is noted. You'll need to get the 2nd amendment repealed or changed. It specifically states the right shall not be infringed upon PERIOD. Shall I post the definition of infringement?
No need, but thanks. How many infringements did you say there were already? Including carrying guns on airplanes. I have no problem with gun ownership. But, having crazies hide behind the 2nd amendment bothers me.
22,000...literally. The founding fathers who wrote the 2nd amendment are "crazies" in your eyes? I gotta tell ya, that makes YOU the crazy in my eyes.
Come on, a bit of a stretch don't you think? Guys like the nut in Aurora are not similar to our founding fathers. Arming everyone is not the answer either. Just like how nations buy more and more weapons, up to nukes, do we really want the street gangs, or anyone else to have that option?
Yeah but it's what makes P&R fun. It is hard to respect certain posters at all though when their argument gets torn to fucking pieces and they just say"your an idiot" in some haughty, long winded, unfunny way without even acknowledging any legit points made. Not that FT did that in this thread, I was talking way more trash than him.. BUT I still have a point, as do you and others.
I agree with you about those who basically don't have any cogent response, and then fall to the bottom of the food chain with their stupid one liners. I appreciate a good discussion, and just can't understand why so many have to resort to such nonsense.
What's a stretch? The 22,000 already existing gun laws or that you think the founders were crazies for adding the 2nd amendment? I never said he was No, not everyone. Just the capable responsible law abiding citizens. Why does every gun control discussion have to end up be something about nukes, ICBM's and SAM's? I don't know of anyone advocating that the average citizen have such weapons. In fact many of you bleeding heart types don't want even governments having those weapons. How about you guys worry about disarming them instead of me. They're the ones killing everyone anyway.
OK, other than the bleeding heart reference, I can agree with you about the disarming part. As I said, taking away my firearms will not help make us any safer.
