Sure -- I am always glad to please. However an interview of ANTIFA activists by Reuters where they brag about being proud of their violence is something to take note of.
To understand antifa you have to understand Oregon as a hotbed for right wing ethno state groups/militias. See Oregon originally had a “no black people” clause in its founding constitution. So it attracted white ethno state types and built a state government around that. Then some time in the mid to late 1800’s the no black provision was removed and the state ran into a lot of racial problems. So the white ethno state types began to form groups and militias around their cause and it maintained. They had a habbit of going into the cities where blacks and minorities lived and sort of riot and intimate them. https://www.rollingstone.com/cultur...s-antifa-portland-violence-spreading-1224762/ You all may recall Portland police issuing a notice of expected violence and not to expect them to intervene in August. https://www.wweek.com/news/city/202...ervene-in-violent-street-brawls-this-weekend/ So out in Oregon for decades people lived with intimidation and police inaction against right wing groups and so some people apparently decided if the police aren’t going to do anything they would. And these “anti-fascist” groups sort of evolved from and with environmental activists, who were already extremists and here we are. The right wingers are getting their asses kicked in Portland. Now the right wants to use “antifa” as bogeyman for a national narrative but antifa isn’t really a national issue, it’s a Portland and to an extent Colorado issue. Anyways, it’s just stupid. Antifa isn’t a political movement it’s an anti right wing movement.
Listen to UsualName, it is really not. You were just too sheltered and you are completely out of calibration. Its fine, they will return to normal life once the threat is passed. No reaction is what would scare me.
Yet our local Democratic mayors in Raleigh and Durham are still warning ANTIFA to not hold violent protests in the evenings in our local North Carolina cities.
There you go with "violent' again. There's all kinds of violent, some is just fine. Often you remind me of a guy I knew who worked for an insurance company and was basically the dad in the Paddington bear movie. No spoilers but that film could be good therapy for you.
Yeah.... most reasonable people would call a group of ANTIFA activists gathering in the evening downtown as they march around breaking windows, setting fires, damaging cars, and assaulting officers & media as violent --- and forcing all the businesses to board-up and close every time one of these antifascist violent protests are planned via social media in our local cities. They are not even showing up in Raleigh and Durham to counter some type of right-wing protest -- they are merely showing up to destroy stuff and hurt people. This is what ANTIFA is all about. The BLM marches locally planned mainly by ministry members in the daytime are peaceful and some of the local politicians even join them. However the leaders are these BLM protests are also saying the ANTIFA evening violent protests are unacceptable and don't represent black lives matter.
And yet.. I've been to Raleigh visiting friends who live downtown and I asked them about all this when you were going on about it. They did not see the world ending. Its a great movie. I'd recommend Paddington and the newest Secret life of Walter Mitty back to back. Maybe take some shrooms or ketamine, one of the many popular horse products that aid psychological complaints.
There has been no reaction for a long time because and this is a hard truth we have to deal with, some of law enforcement is part of the right wing movement. In the Roman legions it was said if you can sway the first soldier, you can sway the tenth. Meaning 90% of the soldiers are just going to go along to get along, it’s only 10% that are the problem. So, yes, for decades right wing militias and groups have had their way and many times unimpeded like in Oregon or down south with some of the racial groups, kkk, skin heads, etc. We know law enforcement make up significant numbers in right wing groups like the oath keepers and so called 3 percenters. What I will say to all of this is that it’s all coming to a head, or can come to a head. The disparities minority targeting by police are at the front of the discussion in America. You see those blue line flags that mock the American flags are a direct counter to Black Lives Matter because the racial underbelly is now exposed for what it all really is. Black Lives Matter also threatens the societal power instilled in law enforcement. And I say this as someone who has law enforcement in my immediate family. Not every cop is flying that flag. Not every police officer is right wing. But the answer to all of this, the lack of enforcement against right wing groups and the racial disparities in policing is actually really simple - make a college degree mandatory for law enforcement. A lot of the bad police wouldn’t be able to make the cut and more educated people can understand the complexities of fair policing.
Why don't you ask the business owners in downtown Raleigh what they thought about it. Not only did they have to deal with closing for Covid -- as soon as they were able to re-open these ANTIFA rioters regularly forced them to close down and have to board up. You do realize that the Downtown Raleigh Business Association hired their own private security to put a stop to this mess -- which forced the city of Raleigh to change their police tactics to a zero tolerance policy for the violent ANTIFA clowns (rather than hands-off which allow ANTIFA to damage everything). As soon as the police reverted to a zero tolerance policy the problem has greatly diminished but still pops up again once in a while.
Again.. Its fucking NC! Charlotte airport is shaped in the form of an assault rifle! You have fascists, anti fascists turn up and because fascists have the high ground there, they over-react (the ruling fascists that is).
