I don't think you're factoring in the respect factor. Biden wins and Obama/Michelle will speak. The protesters will respect all three; and also respect the fact that some 2016 Trump supports did the right thing. They will give Biden/Dems a reasonable chance to do the right thing. Hardcore rioters will fall back without having the cover of legitimate protesters. A Trump win will result in an "awww fuck it" response--all hell will break loose at the next provocation. The vulnerability of the suburbs is regardless to the number of guns owners/neighbors have for several reasons. But like I said, not really wanting to get into that discussion. Even so, there'll be no real winners or losers if it comes to that. America loses. I agree, none of use can predict this.
I have just started to watch Parks and Recreation and I'm not sure if this fella is a sad echo of Ron Swanson or not even in his league at all. Swanson had some real skills.
Whether intended or not, your summaries confirm what many analysts on the right say ie. that this is really a class war that is being promoted- not a race war. It is true that during race wars in the 60's and 70's that many people could just say "frig em, crazy shiite goes on in cities so as long as it stays there then so what, that's just one more reason why I don't live in the city." The folks running BLM are marxists though. They want to cancel whitey and his culture so they want to go to where whitey is. You see early stages of that in Seattle now where they march into condo type neighborhoods and demand that whitey get out and give them his property. In portland they will eventually start occupying leafy green streets with single family housing and, as you point out, that will touch off a totally different dynamic. The rule in the class war jungle which Seattle and Portland have always abided by is/was: "I buy protection by being ultra-liberal. If I have a BLM sign on my lawn, and I support transgender rights for dogs, I have bought protection from angry leftists by virtue signaling that I am a leftist." Those rules don't work anymore. In a class war, being liberal rather than a full-on foaming at the mouth leftist, signals that you are a college educated whitey, single family residence, nuclear family, white collar target that needs to be taken down. Your way of life is no longer the goal for others, it is the problem. And they need to come to your neighborhood to enforce those points. Class war versus a race war is the underlying point. As usual the marxist and other leftist are just using race to foment their class war.

Very confused disjointed response in Portland continues. Kate Brown is trying to treat each episode as a standalone event that requires a separate response. She has no overarching view about what needs to be done. The state police were involved previously, then they retreated on their own because prosecutors refused to prosecute anyone. Now they are back again per her order but know that the governor and the prosecutors do not support them. Round and round we go. She needs to declare a curfew and have the national guard enforce it and have a cooling off period. She is getting there but it is taking her a longgggggggggggg time because she is guided by what the polls are telling her. As the polls begin to show that the protests that they helped enable are actually working against democrats they are suddenly becoming more interested in toning them down. Whether people are killed or businesses are looted and all of that is not even a consideration for her. But hits in the polls? Oh yeh, baby, now we are talking serious stuff.
