I cannot believe kymar, AAA, max, and others are actually debating this point with Alfonso. That he claims the US is to blame for Saddam's disregard of his own people should not be a surprise to any of us here because it is simply indicative of Alfonso's steadfast belief that EVERYTHING is the US' fault. Interesting too that he claims the US should have stuck with the UN route instead of invasion, yet he blames the US for the sanctions, which were in fact mandated by the UN.
