  1. Well that's ugly. Want to share the rules you coded so they can rebut? Or is that re-butt?

  2. This was my basic methodology... http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1078242#post1078242 If you peruse the thread after that point there are more details. You can also marvel at the A Team's feeble and pathetic obfuscation attempts.

P.S. I don't recall from which of the zillion "rocket" variations I tested that the equity curve I posted was from because 99% of what I did was comparing and contrasting distributions of trades (as opposed to looking at equity curves, except maybe a few for "fun").

  3. Perhaps, someone could clarify the conclusions of Trader666's hypothesis for me. (Assuming all Trader666's backtest claims arrived from valid tests), should one assume that since she could not backtest profitably, the system (in this particular case 'rockets'), therefor, does not work in the present or cannot work in the future?

  5. 666. Sorry, I missed that. Was making an honest living at that time. So you tested rackets on daily charts? Not intraday?

  6. Hi Spydy... my backtests were done correctly. And anyone who tests the same things will come to the same conclusion (see the link at my last post and read forward for more specifics than I care to repeat here). But the bottom line is I used Jack's own definition as a starting point:

To find a rocket you only have to have your quality universe (they are very high quality stocks with EPS and RS at 80 to 90 percentiles each. The only indicator that is significant is the Stochastic (5,3,3). What you look for on your daily charts are the stochastic rising deliberately to the 80% line and overshooting it and then critically damping on the line; perturbations will cause it to look entwined on the line. There you have it.

Then I added a change to the stochastic provided by Jack, plus several things you and others on the A Team gave me, then I tested tons of variations.

I'll also repeat something I said in that linked post:

Not saying nobody's making money trading rockets. But in my opinion if they are, they're either lucky or their discretion is doing the heavy lifting. Or both.

I've been wondering... why don't you guys start with something that does test out so you have the wind at your back, and apply discretion to that?

Do the few genuine members on this thread know that you are debating with a number of your aliases on this thread?

  9. Yes, Hypo has elevated the art of Sock Puppet creation to a skill level rarely observed, but some of us find it entertaining none the less. :D

  10. KEEP IT UP 666 and HYPO. DONT STOP YOUR BULLSHITTING.

After every post you write in this thread.....sit back.... relax.......and realize how much wasted energy you are putting into this. Isnt it great how much time you can never get back. NEVER..The really sad thing is that this is the best you can do with your free time as you probably have no wife, friends or in 666's case a husband.

You guys are a bunch of losers and I LOVE watching you guys waste your life away on this stuff. I LOVE IT!!!!!! KEEP WASTING AWAY.....YOU WILL WITHER SOON ENOUGH. I have an inkliing as to where 666 may end up after he withers away also..:D

OH... and you will never get Jacks stuff so keep wasting your life away TRYING to figure it out......extreme entertainment for others.
