    Killed Bin Laden
Yes, this happened in the Obama Administration. However, did Obama do anything special that caused Bin Laden's capture? Or was this event merely a right time and place situation?

    Ended Iraq war
And terrorists from Iran moved right in immediately afterwards. Admittedly, the whole Middle East situation was the mess Bush seemed to be hoping for after he took out Saddam, and as the CIA predicted.

    Saved auto industry
The way Obama "saved" the auto industry was controversial. In the Cash for Clunkers program, older cars were taken off the market permanently by destroying their engines. Not exactly environmentally friendly, was it? This program reduced to supply of vehicles and increased the cost of ownership. Who does that effect the most? Correctamundo, the poor. I heard somewhere the Democrats are "champions of the poor". Well not in this case.

Another source of controversy was taxpayer bailouts to auto dealers. Those dealers who supported the Democratic Party got taxpayer assistance and not the dealers who supported Republicans to a significant degree. There apparently was a large dealership closure over this and a subsequent large local job loss.

    Ended dont ask dont tell
    How is this an achievement?

    Stopped Iran from getting nukes
Some believe Iran tested their first nuke in North Korea. Iran either has or will have nukes no matter which US President we could have had in the past or no matter which President we may get in the future. Obama deserves no credit for doing anything special in Iran. In fact, Israel was apparently none too happy with Obama.

    Federal Recognition of Same-Sex Marriages
How is this an achievement? Why would the Federal Government have any involvement in this? The Federal Government did not have any involvement in heterosexual marriages, did they? Except an income tax break. Is this what you are talking about?

Same sex marriages are contrary to the Bible and it would be reasonable for Christian priests to not want to perform their services for gay couple. However, on the state level, I have no issue if a couple of the same sex wants to get married by a court clerk. However, even there, is it really reasonable for a homosexual couple to get a Federal income tax break? I'm thinking along the lines that a tax break for marriage is based on society potentially benefitting from the marriage by procreation.

    Ended Bush torture policies
    Thank you, Mr. Obama.

    Normalized Relations with Cuba
Thank you, Mr. Obama. However was the real reason for a fresh set of US Democratic voters through easier immigration and getting Democratic connected businesses in front of the line for trade and business opportunities with Cuba?

    Protected DREAMers from Deportation
    How is this an achievement?

    etc etc etc
This sounds like something Obama would say. Without his TelePrompTer, that is.

Obama is responsible for increasing the Federal Debt by almost $8 trillion, almost matching all the accumulated debt of all the other Presidents. Again, All the accumulated Federal Debt of all other US President's COMBINED.

I tip my hat to your nice charts, though.

Obama was handed a terrible economy by Bush, and that accounted for some of that debt accumulation. But not all of it. The way TARP was structured was rediculous. Delinquent homeowners could had their payments subsidized for roughly 10% of the program cost.

The economic recovery act was back loaded for apparent political purposes so the economy would look better in time for Obama's reelection bid, instead of being front loaded when it was desprately needed. Obama seemed to put politics above all else, all the time.

Solyndra was given over $500 million by the Federal Government before it went bankrupt. Management of Solyndra was in bed with Democrats in the Obama Administration if my memory serves me correctly.

Like Bush, Obama was Partisan to a fault and was irresponsible with taxpayer money to an epic degree. Irresponsible or maybe more accurately, criminal. Obama even outspent Bush on Defense. Go ahead, look it up if you don't already know this.

I have saved the worst for last. Under the Obama Administration, men and Whites were virtually persecuted for their sex and the color of their skin by the media. I am not the only one who felt this. Transsexual Bruce Jenner got his picture and write up in a National magazine for merely getting a sex change. Between this, media attacks on white males, and a significant number of youths being left home alone by working single parents the desire for sex change operations skyrocketed. In the Obama Administration, healthcare insurance started to cover sex change operations. Sex changes increased fourfold in the US from the Bush Administration to near the end of the Obama Administration. In spite of what Radical Leftists might think, the desire to change one's own gender is not a sign of good mental health. What it is a sign of is the vulnerability to our youths to suggestion, especially when left home along for an extended period of time without parental supervision. Using the TV or computer as a parent is a bad idea and the Radical Leftists seem to know how to capitalize on this.

As a result of Obama's political favoritism and heavy regulatory focus, many businesses felt the business environment in the United States was unfriendly. In response, businesses held back on hiring and capital investment versus what they could have done if they had more confidence in the Obama Administration. This is why the economic recovery was so anemic by historical standards.
Although economic growth rates are slower under Trump than Obama, we are not comparing the same part of the economic cycle. Obama had the benefit of TARP, 3 quantitative easings, a $750 billion economic stimulus package, and interest rates at a 200 plus year low of near zero percent. Trump had higher interest rates, Federal Reserve balance sheet unwinding, and a late stage economy where historically growth rates are lower. Actually, there is almost no precident for an economic expansion lasting this long. Trump tax cuts, regulatory reform, and the promise of trade deal reform has encouraged businesses to take risks again. Hopefully, our economic expansion will continue.

No matter how you try to spin it, no matter how many pretty charts you can come up with, no matter how many backup teleprompters Obama may have had, Obama was a terrible President for his partisanship and his failure to lead. Obama's Presidential record makes him one of the worse Presidents in US history.

  2. Your post has been reformatted to facilitate my reply to each one of your points and is inline, below:

"Tony Stark, post: 4841055, member: 495092"]It is the medias job to report credible accusations, they do it with all Presidents.
I agree the press should report credible and significant accusations with all Presidents and political appointees, such as Justice Kavanaugh. Proper and consistent vetting is key for the press to meet their obligations to the citizens of this country. Unfortunately, the effect of accusations in the media is a politician's career can be unfairly and effectively ended without a court trial where evidence that has met the rules of evidence is weighed by a group of his peers. Basically one can be accused of a crime, tried by a biased media, and pay the price of committing a crime without the benefit of a real court trial through loss of employment.

His lawyers accusations supported with porn star pay outs,
Are you talking about the lawyer who has too much of a motive and credibility problem to be considered a reliable witness?

25 million Trump university fraud fine,
Although Democrats own Trump on this, this was how many years before Trump ran for President?

over 20 accusations of sexual misconduct ,
An accusation of sexual "misconduct" does not mean anything. What does "misconduct" really mean? Rape is an example of a chargeable crime. There are no criminal statues listing "sexual misconduct" as a crime because it is too broad. Now an unwanted grabbing of a pussy could be considered sexual assault. Has Trump been accused by a credible party for that? Anyone can say anything who is looking for a payout or a political benefit, as we have seen.

    thousands of documented lies,
This above statement is a lie. Don't get me wrong, Trump has lied. However, most of Trump's statements the other side considers lies are merely differences of opinions, subjective interpretations, simple and unintentional inaccuracies, and accidental conflation.

    thousands of lawsuits,
As the owner of hundreds of businesses, an aggressive counterattack philosophy, and celebrity status, Trump will be sued and will sue. Thousands of lawsuits sounds like it may indicate an issue, but in context, it means almost nothing.

hundreds of people saying he didn't pay them,
Bankruptcy and poor workmanship are probably all or nearly all of that. Trump does a huge amount of business and apparently has no trouble finding people to work for him, right?

family admitting to meeting with Russians to get help for his campaign,
Too general, too vague. Hell at this point, I'll settle for what specific law do you think members of the Trump Organization might of broken.

etc etc etc are credible accusations the media should report
The Russia Collusion Investigation ended up being another self-impeachment by the press. From the half-baked and unvetted Steele Dossier, to media sensationalism such as "the walls are closing in", to FBI investigator bias, to FISA issues, to possible witness tampering by the FBI, to the apparent timing of lFBI leaks or indictment announcements with political events, and to false characterizations of information was all for the political agenda of the press and their Democratic Party supporters. CNN lied repeatedly and got caught repeatedly. Although, after heavy pressure, CNN did retract some things, other things they did not, but should.

How can you defend the press when a functioning Democracy depends on our media to be above board, all the time, and with everybody?

    Are you against Democracy?

  3. You are mischaracterizing what I am saying.

The media was selling the war to the American people. Selling and reporting are different things. The media allowed Bush to use the credibility they had at the time to advance Bush's political agenda.

    Shame on them.

Solyndra who? The Energy Department's loan program is now profitable.

The DoE loan program became a lightning rod during the 2012 presidential election for backing solar company Solyndra, which later went bankrupt. A few years later, it's in the black.

    October 17, 2016

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) loan program that became a lightning rod during the 2012 presidential election is now turning a profit.

The program became infamous for backing solar company Solyndra, which later went bankrupt.

Three years after Solyndra's failure, though, the program is now in the black.

Interest payments from projects funded by the loan program were $810 million in September, higher than the $780 million in losses recorded, reports Reuters, citing DOE statistics.

Those losses make up 2.28 percent of the loan program's total commitments, with the $528 million Solyndra loan making up the bulk of that amount

    https://news.gallup.com/poll/226994/obama-first-retrospective-job-approval-rating.aspx

Obama's First Retrospective Job Approval Rating Is 63%

    STORY HIGHLIGHTS
    • Obama retrospective on the higher end of former presidents' ratings
    • Kennedy, Reagan rated best; Nixon worst
    • Clinton's job rating slips; George W. Bush's improves
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Barack Obama's legacy appears to be on the right track, as 63% of Americans in hindsight say they approve of the way he handled his job. Gallup's first measure of Obama's retrospective job approval rating places him behind John Kennedy and Ronald Reagan among the 10 most recent presidents. Richard Nixon is rated worst today for how he handled his job, with 28% approving.

The results are based on a Feb. 5-11 update of a question Gallup has asked periodically since 1990 about former presidents. Obama's 63% retrospective approval rating is slightly higher than the 59% he received in Gallup's final measurement of him as president in January 2017.
