It’s partly subjective. No doubt MJ is the greatest because he elevated the mediocre around him. Lebron is a great player - he’s just an insufferable douchebag who went political and Hollywood...something athletes shouldn’t do. He also needed a star studded cast around him to win. MJ didn’t.
Scottie Pippen is probably better than anyone Labron played with, only Dewayne Wade is arguable, and Jordon had Pippen for all 6 of his championships.Jordon also had Dennis Rodmen for some championships and had very solid supporting casts especially clutch shooters.Jordon also had the greatest coach ever.
Lebron James assembled good players around him like Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh and went out of his way to chase them. Would he have won a title with the Miami Heat without those players? He is doing the same thing for the Los Angeles Lakers so, he can claim he brought a championship to Los Angeles! Michael Jordan was a very good player, Lebron James is way overrated!
BTW Wilt isn't even the best center in NBA history,no one would put him above Kareem.Shaq,Hakeem and Russell all have strong cases for being better than Wilt at the center postion. Cant be the greatest when you're not even the greatest at your position.Nobody in history is better than Lebron at his position. No one in history is a better all around player than James, not even Jordon.James can play the shooting guard position and be one of the best in the league at that position.Jordon cant play the small forward position as effective as James can play guard.James could play the center position far better than Wilt could play small forward.James could play 4 of the 5 NBA positions and be top 10 or maybe top five in 4 of those positions. The best combination of size, speed and strength in NBA history. Combine that with a basketball IQ that's off the charts and you have one of the greatest the game has ever seen. -- Rob Peterson, ESPN.com It's almost unfair to label him as a small forward, because he plays with the strength of a power forward and the ballhandling abilities of a point guard. -- J.A. Adande, ESPN.com No weaknesses. Runs the offense as a point forward while still dropping nearly 30 points per game. The game's most powerful and effective force for a decade. -- Chris Broussard, ESPN The Magazine If LeBron retired tomorrow, he'd leave as the greatest small forward in league history based on his four MVPs, and he's already among the top 10 in all-time win shares, according to Basketball-Reference.com. -- Kevin Pelton, ESPN Insider
