Russians have been seeking to influence and disrupt US elections for decades. Nothing to see here.

Now, the real intrusion into elections was the Barack Ali-Bamy influence on the Israeli elections. --Real nasty stuff there--

We all know what the reference is too, the reference is that Russians hacked hillary and released the information, that is the narrative thats been going on for months and months and months.

The narrative, and the question is specifically targeted to the idea that Russians, with the involvement of Trump hacked into the DNC's emails and then released them on wikileaks at a point whereby it would damage hillary the most.

Thats the story the liberals are selling, thats the reaction your getting back from people. If you ever asked one of these people "Do russians try to meddle in our elections" the answer would be far different.

Its dishonest, and its a way of manipulating the conversation to lead people into believing in all kinds of nonsense.

I'm not sure that was the original goal post. I think it was more about the Wikileaks tie to the Russians, which, as far as I am aware, still has not been proven at all.

Additionally, I haven't seen any evidence whatsoever of any Trump collusion, any Trump campaign collusion, and proof whatsoever of anything out of the norm such as the NSA report showing there were phishing attempts that are consistent with a method Russian hackers have used in the past.

So I maintain, where is the proof? Of anything?

Do I think the Russians wanted Trump to win and didn't want Hillary? Sure. So did I. Does that mean I'm guilty of meddling by telling others I was voting for Trump?

  5. One point of disagreement. I don't think the Russians really cared who won, although you could make an argument either way. What the Russians really wanted was to create enough doubt about the legitimacy of the election as to cause people to question the results. On that they hit a grand slam and I'm sure they are laughing their asses off.

Perhaps. But I truly believe they thought Hillary meant war, and Trump was a chance for peace. Whether this turns out to be the case is yet to be seen.

  7. I tend to think the Russians were only paying back for our intrusion into politics of the countries neighboring Russia.

Good point. No one ever talks about all the elections the US meddles in around the world.

  9. Agreed. That anyone in the US 'is appalled' by Russian political intrusion, makes a great subject for a comedy skit.

meanwhile, those that did the deed remain free:

Reality Winner, who leaked intelligence on Russian election interference, released from prison
    • Reality Winner, a former Air Force linguist who pleaded guilty in 2018 to leaking an intelligence report about Russian interference in the 2016 election, has been released from prison, her attorney said.
    • “I am thrilled to announce that Reality Winner has been released from prison,” Alison Grinter Allen wrote in a post on Twitter. “She is still in custody in the residential reentry process, but we are relieved and hopeful.”
    • Winner’s case was an early example of the tough approach that President Donald Trump’s administration took toward those accused of leaking confidential government information.
well, that post aged like milk.
