Does this surprise anyone? Probably not.

Police acknowledge 'wrong decision' in delay in confronting Texas school shooter.

“Of course, it wasn’t the right decision. Period.” Department of Public Safety Director Steven McCraw said at a news conference.

This is a simple issue of school security. Hard to imagine when we can secure our courts, when we can secure congress, we can secure our airports, we still cannot secure our schools? How the hell can any student just enter a school without being subjected to a serious search by police officers or sheriffs? How come school doors are left unlocked during school hours when class is in session? What are security officers not patrolling the school grounds and making sure all doors are locked and no one is able to breach the school grounds? And you have fully armed police not breaching the room where the gun wielding student was? Numerous calls by students and teachers to 911 asking for help yet, it took them forever to engage the student with a gun?

  3. It is amazing how police can freely shoot unarmed people or knee them to death in the streets...

but when there is actually a shooter they should be storming and taking down they sit in a hallway grabbing their dicks while 19 children are shot and they can hear the shots....

all of those police should be fired or be forced to dig the graves because the gunman is responsible but their actions are as bad in many ways.

Seriously.... the police system in this country is a complete disaster from top to bottom...

    Wow...what the fuck ?

I just heard as stated on TV from the Department of Public Safety Director that...
    • 19 law enforcement officers stood outside in the hallway near the classroom where the shooter enter and begin shooting...
They took no action and just stood there waiting for tactical reinforcements, more equipment to be used to storm the classroom, and some of them evacuated their own children from the school that was in other classrooms.
    • What the fuck are they being paid to do ?
Worst, the parents were outside screaming at police to do something. Instead, when tactical reinforcements arrived...the new arriving reinforcements were used as "crowd management" to control the angry/screaming parents.

There's going to be major lawsuits and many law enforcement will lose their job involving this mass shooting along with some school officials for their failure in securing (locking) those doors during school session when they were notified there was a shooter outside in the area.

That police department received all that money for training for situations like this and they did nothing until it was too late.

OVER ONE HOUR OF STANDING AROUND DOING NOTHING...

Obama/Biden changed the rules involving law enforcement reaction to "active shooter" situations at schools across America...YOU PUSH TO PRESS THE FIGHT that all law enforcement have now been trained to do to get in there and kill the some of bitch...no negotiation in an active shooter situation at a school.
    • Uvalde police department didn't follow the training they received for situations exactly like that...kids were begging for help and calling their parents outside on the cell phone...
Police (The Incident Commander) made a decision to NOT storm that classroom door because that Incident Commander thought it was a "hostage situation". The result...the kids calling their parents for help (whispering for help) on the cell phone...all of those kids were killed while 19 law enforcement officers stood outside the fucking door.

There were protocols in place for an "active shooter situation" that was not followed...the Incident Commander should be fired and arrested.

On another note...Gov. Greg Abbott said Wednesday that the Uvalde school shooter had a "mental health challenge" and the state needed to "do a better job with mental health" — yet in April he slashed $211 million from the department that oversees mental health programs.

If anyone is curious, Texas is now rank dead last (pun intended) in access to mental healthcare.

And the best we can tell right now.... the federal CBP tactical team arrived... told the useless Uvalde police officers to f@ck-off, took control of the situation and stormed the classroom within 5 minutes of their arrival. As far as we can tell right now -- not a single Uvalde police officer was involved in storming the classroom, only the federal officers (note - this is yet to be confirmed).

The meantime kids in the classroom are still calling 911 for an hour while the Uvalde police took no action. If they stormed the classroom earlier then more lives would have been saved -- including the lives of children who bled out over an hour.

In the military, I've seen this before...
    • You'll bleed out very fast (less than 5mins) from a high-velocity shot just to your leg.
The only thing you can do is continue playing dead, hope there's enough blood all over you that the shooter makes a mistake and assumes you're dead because of any movement by you to stop the massive bleeding...you will get shot again.

I will agree that cracking down on guns in high crime areas is part of the solution. For a start there should be a mandatory five year prison sentence for any crime committed with a gun. Also any suspect arrested for a crime committed with a gun should not be allowed bail -- they are a danger to the community -- they should not be out committing more crimes while waiting on a trial.

This being said --- there also needs to be a number of common sense gun control measures put into place to stop school shootings. Simply claiming that we will spend more money to beef up security as schools isn't going to cut it -- many schools systems including Uvalde spent quite a bit already on "school security". At the same time do we need to spend endless money to beef up armed security at every public location -- churches, malls, day cares, etc. Where does it stop. Do we need multiple armed guards at every public space.

It is time to put some basic gun control measures in place -- directed explicitly at stopping the shooters in the majority of school incidents -- who are under 21. First, by U.S. law today those under 21 cannot purchase a pistol. Extend this to all firearms -- nobody under 21 can purchase any gun. This does not violate the second amendment since it is done for pistols already (and for all guns under 18 currently). Second, require a three day waiting period. Third, require a federal background check for all gun purchases including mental health records -- this must include criminal & mental health records during the period prior the 18th birthday. Fourth, require private gun sales to follow the same procedures as sales from gun shops.

Will these measures stop every mass shooting at schools? No. But at least it will slow them down. A young shooter will now need to get a gun from a parent (charge them also) or via an illegal sale.

It is time to say enough is enough. Clearly politicians don't want to compromise and address the gun issue in the U.S. -- they are stuck at two extremes across the aisle -- with lots of rhetoric and no reasonable actions.

What the f... 29 pages already wow. :p

“America needs real solutions and real leadership in this moment, not politicians and partisanship,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Wednesday. “That’s why I will keep my longtime commitment to speak in Texas at the NRA Convention and deliver an important address to America.”

You didn't think he wasn't going to miss getting a check now - did you?

  9. Ted Cruz has the answer!!! Less doors and more guns:

    Cruz said:

“One of the things that everyone agreed is don’t have all of these unlocked back doors. Have one door into and out of the school and have ... armed police officers at that door.""If that had happened, if those federal grants had gone to this school, when that psychopath arrived, the armed police officers could have taken him out.""And we'd have 19 children and two teachers still alive.”

Amazing how the police had access to the same doors yet chose to do nothing....
Amazing how doors are not a U.S. invention yet we only have regular school shootings in the U.S.
Amazing how Ted Cruz doesn't tie his shit and take his shoes in the morning with all his geniusness
