Another school shooting

  1. Except that giving kids guns would be the equivalent of giving them polio and cars. Otherwise, yeah, cool argument.

"Before you restrict guns, why not make schools have a comprehensive security plan?" - GOP politicians exclaim.

Uvalde had one since 2018. "Funding for metal detectors and physical security?" $69k in 2020. "Bigger security budget?" Doubled since 2017 to $435k.

The Uvalde school district had an extensive safety plan. 19 children were killed anyway.
Even security plans that appear to be up to the latest research-based standards may have gaps and fall short of preventing the worst-case scenario, experts said.

its certainly true this country is awash in guns, not really a good thing.

its also true the vast majority of homicides are in urban inner city
areas in addition the occasional random lunatic like this kid from texas.

so rural and suburban america is like, dont look at us. we're not the problem.

answer? crack down big time in problem areas. stop and frisk, lock people up for
illegal weapons for a long time like the law allows for.

    easy, but they wont.

    so stop complaining.

the solutions aren't really that hard, like if you're fat stop eating so much.
    kind of like that.

  4. I agree with this part of your post. Meanwhile, the gun crowd thinks it will lose weight at the all-you-can-eat buffet.

I know a lot of people don't agree with stop and frisk, but it is legal, and if your town
had 500 murders a year wouldn't you welcome that until it stopped? Any sane person
    would be ok with that.

Its typically the people that do not live in those areas that fight against
    it. how sad.

    What the fuck...

The Uvalde police team was waiting around for others to arrive because of a key !!!
    • In the meantime, they had enough time to realize the danger (active shooter) for their own children in other rooms that they used that critical time to evacuate their own children even though the shooter was barricaded in a different classroom.
That's a bullshit reaction to the "active shooter situation" considering storming a room doesn't involve using a fucking key to access a classroom or any other room.

You kick in the door, others outside at the window...they all storm the room on cue. If you're not strong enough to kick in the door, you use a ramming device.

I really hope that those children were not killed while the Uvalde police were "waiting" outside for a fucking key or waiting for a tactical force to arrive considering the U.S. has one national standard for law enforcement to "storm classrooms" when it involves a shooter in the same classroom with students.

The investigation must involve talking to the survivors to help pinpoint what the police were doing before the shooting started and what they were doing during the sounds of gunshots.

Let us see what the GOP will sign (approve) when Biden sends new gun control laws cross their desk.

More importantly, let us see what the GOP will do when they take control in the mid-terms involving gun control laws...will they create a national standard or loosen up the current gun control laws that are currently planned in 5 other GOP states.

Also, I'm curious what the GOP will do if another mass shooting occurs in another GOP state beyond canceling the appearance by some key donators at the next NRA conference.

Given what he is writing, you know the answer yourself.
Because of that answer, it is clear he cannot answer your question.
And as he is not a child anymore, it will be a lifetime problem for him. He missed the development, partially or complete.
