Anywhere Islam borders non-Islam there is conflict. Shia and sunni at at each others throats too. Iran-Iraq for instance. I am not a Christian, if I had to live under 15th century Christianity I would feel the same about them. Western christians evolved and secularized so I don't mind living with them, muslims didn't.
