Police said the shooting followed an “armed confrontation” and that the child had a gun. However, video footage shows no gun in Adam’s hand and that he complied by putting his hands up.

As a seventh-grader, Adam is the youngest person in years to be killed by Chicago police.

    Wow...kid is running away...

Cop tells him to stop. He stops...cop quickly tells him to raise his fucking hands up...

He then raises his hands (clearly no gun in his hand).

In a split second...Cop shoots a single bullet shot to the chest of that kid. Kid dead at the scene.

He points his gun at his chest. Shoots him and then runs over and ask him is he's "hey look at me...look at me...you alright"..."where you're shot at".

    What the Fuck ?

That's a bullet to the heart...it sucks the wind out of you as your chest quickly fills up with blood and you quickly bleed out. Most people can not speak after being shot like that.

Their eyes roll back into their head as they quickly loose consciousness.

  4. "Additional officers can be seen coming to the scene where Adam lies unresponsive, telling him, “Stay awake, man” and attempting chest compressions until an ambulance arrives. The officer who killed Adam shined a light on the back of the fence where he was lying, showing a gun several feet away. Prosecutors allege this was the gun Adam had carried."

Was the kid carrying that gun, dumped it as he was fleeing, and then attempted to surrender? Hard to say conclusively. Was the cop too quick on the trigger? That's for a jury to decide. Tough job in a tough neighborhood. Wouldn't be doing it now days for all the money in the world.
Whatever the cause, let the riots begin case this ain't going to be swallowed as an accident.

  5. So in watching the local Chicago news it seems this is how it went down.
Approximately 2:30 AM police respond to shots fired. Video footage shows the kid and another person, (an adult male now in custody), firing 8 shots. The chase ensues with both suspects fleeing. It's pretty much accepted that video footage shows the kid holding a gun in his right hand while running. It's also accepted that the kid dumped the gun .8 seconds before turning and apparently trying to surrender. In this blink of an eye the cop fired and hit the kid with one shot killing him.
The city is currently boarding up businesses. A "rally" is forming in the downtown area. Police on full alert. Btw, the kid was Hispanic which may make a difference in the intensity of the "protests".

It's Chicago...police are known in Chicago to plant a gun nearby in a shooting when they clearly make a mistake and know there's going to be a body cam footage.
    • I'm not saying that's what happen.
Could be just a kid playing with a gun given to him by a 21 year old (that was with him but did not run) or a kid trying to buy a gun for protection from an older guy or they were just shooting it for practice into wooden light poles (very common to do such for target practice in Chicago).

You then quickly get the hell out of there because you know someone heard and most likely called the police.

The kid was clearly unarmed and raised his hands as instructed.

The problem here is the cop reported to his commanding officer that the shooting occurred when the kid was "armed" and then a Cook County Prosecutor stated the kid had a gun in his hand.

Police story and the Prosecution story already very problematic...looks like a cover up to me.

  8. Chicago cops have plenty of shit in their game, so yeah, that's a hurdle for them to overcome. Yes, in watching the video from the safety of our homes it seems pretty clear the kid was trying to surrender and was unarmed at that precise moment, especially with a still camera shot at the end. In real time, heat of the moment, not so easy to make those determinations. Like I said, tough job I wouldn't want to be doing.
Activists already calling it an assassination. It clearly wasn't that, but it does appear that the cop was pretty quick on the trigger.

The problem is what the Cop reported to his commanding officer and what a Prosecutor stated...

Their version of the kid with a gun (armed) when the kid was shot doesn't add up with the body cam video. The kid had his hands up...visible with the Police officer flash light shining a very bright beam into the kid...the kid had no gun in his hand.

The next command from the Cop should have been to turnaround and tell the kid to get on his knees or to lie flat on the ground...instead....he suddenly shot the kid.

It will get him fired at the minimum and possibly a murder charge. Had the police stated the truth that correlated with what was shown in his bodycam video...

He'll still be fired but may be able to avoid being charged with murder because it happen so fast. As of right now...it looks like a cover up between what the Police stated in their report versus in which the Cook County Prosecutor so quickly agreed with...it contradicts the bodycam video.
