in day trading you do not have time on your side.

you may have knowledge of longer term trading but do have a expertise in reading charts? that is critical in day trading.

i have seen many people give fairly accurate price targets-even i do- but no one in my 30 years experience, have even come close to giving a reasonably accurate time target, in which the price will be achieved..

i understand where you are coming from-i too came from the same place.

but today, unlike even 20 years back, you have the technology to entertain your every whim:and you can certainly give day trading a try without risking a dime.... open a demo / sim account.

Trading is complex, but simple and if you can understand certain concepts it is easy:Al Brooks wrote and explained certain things in his book which took me years to understand.

But that does not mean it will take you the same time!

Do entertain yourself ; it is lovely way to spend your time in a productive way.

    Do not risk money.

I lose money every day and have lost money for 12 years but i still will not give it up because i need and want to have something to wake up to every morning. Some other reason than my dog that is.

i can afford the losses i make and i have a dream to live.

To me it is a small cost to live a life and do something that i always dreamt of.

    You can too.
Just tailor it to your needs and financial and emotional environment in which you live.

My 2c as I'm not nearly as expert as many here. I'd say close to 100% of sites that vendor day trading education aren't worth it nor can actually trade for a living. If you haven't done so already, you may want to visit www.tradingschools.org and peruse through several past reviews and their comments to get more acclimated to how much of a wildwest-snakeoil scam industry it truly is. Some good books already mentioned and maybe a few more technical analysis books for the relatively small budget. Plenty of free info at some sites without having to pay anything either. (ex: www.thepatternsite.com , https://www.babypips.com/learn/forex ) . Sim and screen time to start of with, maybe a few hundreds of hours first of sim trades in day trading timeframe charts (1/5/15 min, or 500 tick, etc.) to get an acquired sense/idea of how some markets move throughout the day. Good luck.
