I've always gotten a chuckle out of the idea that "If my short term plan fails I will go long term because I buy quality". It seems to me that almost the only outcome can be that the trader has become an investor and is upside down in the whole thing.

  2. Good point, except that it doesn't apply to me because I make money.

If you really made "money", you wouldn't endlessly promote your own website, and you wouldn't waste your time on message boards telling people how much money you make.

I cant believe people are still feeding this troll.

Let's see, Dow and S&P are up roughly 30% since Jan 2003. We are talking about indexes, smth that is AVERAGE. Just how much better is mrmarket's method?

A year ago his performance was calculated to be 3%. Search the threads, it's there. So obviously his "15%" only works in up markets, not sideways and down markets.

Now for his method to even hold these "great" results, we find out that it needs constant capital infusions because you gotta hold the losers. How is that a way to make money?
I thought good investing was taking 10k and growing it with actual investment growth not capital infusions.

I mean the way I look at it, even if I had no knowledge or experience in trading it makes much more sense to invest in a major index a year ago rather than using mrmarket's method. More sense to invest in an AVERAGE of stock rather than Mr. Wharton MBA's amazing picks.

  5. Well.... beating the index is the measure and goal of every money manager in the world. If it were that easy, it wouldn't be the measure and goal.

And the analysis of gms supports a return closer to 12.5%, not 3%. I trust the analysis of gms. He is diligent and thorough.

Mecro, if you don't like mrmarket's method, pay no attention to it. You are a scalper anyway. He and you are on opposite ends of the spectrum.

I'm sure it's the bravado that bugs you. So what, let it go. What in the world does it matter to you or anyone else anyway?

    C'mon guys.

  6. DHI.

Putting aside fundamentals, an area in which I defer to the greater expertise of mrmarket and my very close pal slammajamma, on a technical and historical note, I have observed that for DHI to rise in the 4-6 weeks it will have to make an accomplishment that it has never done before: rise a 4th month in a row. Its possible, but it has not happened since 1997. And before that it occured in 1993, where as an IPO, DHI rose 12 consecutive months. On the other hand, DHI has had periods where it did not make a monthly low below its prior month's low for longer than 4 months, but its longest uptrends were in 1993, then 1997, and it is currently in its 3 longest uptrend.

Its current bull run is already 50% longer than its post 9/11 bull run.

However considering the ominous distribution day a few days ago in housing stocks, I don't accord a high probability to mrmarket's prognostication on DHI.

For more analysis on housing stocks short setups, check into my journal thread over the next week.

  8. That's probably why 416 people joined my website, because index funds outperform my stock picks. LOL!!!

By the way, where are your great trades??

  9. That's 416 members in less than 2 months, for those keeping score.

In the last two months you lost 200 "members" on your free site, and you still brag??

Inandlong, look at mr. monkeys last 2 posts, wouldn't you say that's obvious shilling for his website? He's been doing this since his very first post, in one way or another.

I thought promoting ones own site was a no-no here? What's so special about mr. monkey that he gets to continuously promote his site?
