very interesting: if you hold for years or if you trade intraday, do you use the same approach to make your trading decision?
can you give an example say for a trade you held intraday for a very short time, and another one you kept at least a year : what was different in your approach?
No it's not a REIT, they stay away from products and services religion doesn't approve eg tobacco companies, casinos etc...
If I am trading intra-day eg 15 minutes, first question is why is the stock moving, then I look at the the hourly chart both the stock and the general market and see what longer term trend is and where the important support or resistance points are then make a decision to go long or short. If I am thinking position trade, I look to see whether the company is a growth company or dividend paying company, how the monthly and quarterly charts of the stock and the general market look plus the company fundamentals eg EPS, balance sheet, free cash flow, debt and how the company compares to it's peers and sector then make a decision to go long or short. Look at the context not just the stock, FIRST QUESTION ALWAYS is why is the stock moving up or down does this have legs or is it a short term fluctuation.
