The market is tired of the daily tariff whiplash. Stock market today: Nasdaq enters correction, S&P 500 sinks to lowest since November as stocks get clobbered on Trump tariff whiplash https://finance.yahoo.com/news/live...bered-on-trump-tariff-whiplash-210544344.html US stocks tanked to session lows on Thursday after more tariff whiplash from the Trump administration. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) fell 1%, or over 400 points, while the S&P 500 (^GSPC) dropped nearly 2%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) plummeted more than 2.6%. The Nasdaq is now more than 10% off its December record high and officially entered into correction territory. Trade-war uncertainty has persisted as investors weighed how far President Donald Trump would be willing to negotiate on tariffs. On Thursday, Trump said he would pause tariffs on some Mexican goods, and the White House later said the delay also includes goods from Canada.
So trump complains about the worst trade deal in history.....the USMCA.....which he signed and called the greatest trade deal in history.....and says he will put tariffs on Mexico 25%...and then says he will exempt goods under the USMCA....the agreement he says was the worst in history...which he signed calling it the best in history....and revisit again in April.... because he once again proves he says whatever dumb americans believe so he can get elected and then waffles like crazy on his promises.....and will tell you Mexico is doing something as a result of his threat...which will end up being something they were already doing or just a show to get trump to cave... i dont know if America is tht stupid or the choice of Kamala and Biden before her was just so bad......I think clearly both but definitely a lot of America being stupid...
Tell that to US automakers. They had to call Donnie up and tell him if the auto tariffs hit how many people they will lay off within a week. I'm delighted that Ontario is slapping tariffs on electricity to the US ( to millions of Americans ), and every bottle of US liquor is off the shelves.
