Yes it is wrong imo. That was the message right from day1 of Christianity, just like Billy Graham bs, "Humanity is off to hell, you can get a ticket to heaven now, just sign up, join our church".
Now what happened here? Are these pretend christians or maybe is it God has a lesson for them? Bus crash in Zimbabwe kills 35 churchgoers By Nimi Princewill and Sarah Diab, CNN April 15, 2022 https://edition.cnn.com/2022/04/15/africa/bus-crash-deaths-zimbabwe-intl/index.html The scene of the bus crash near the town of Chimanimani, Zimbabwe. (CNN)Thirty-five people have died after a bus carrying more than 100 members of the Zion Christian Church crashed Thursday night near the town of Chimanimani, in eastern Zimbabwe, according to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP). The fatal accident occurred at around 10 p.m. local time (4 p.m.ET), when the bus carrying 106 members of the church "went out of the road and fell into a gorge," the ZRP said on Twitter. Police also said 71 people were injured in the accident. "The bodies of the victims were taken to Chipinge Hospital for post-mortem while the injured were referred to the same institution for treatment, with 13 being critically injured," ZRP said. Road traffic crashes, including fatal accidents, have been on the increase in Zimbabwe, according to official figures. Zimbabwe's official road traffic death rate rose from 1,836 in 2016 to an average of 2,000 fatalities per year between 2017 and 2019, averaging over five deaths per day, according to the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ). The World Health Organization estimates that the true figure could be three times higher, according to a recent United Nations report. Zimbabwe loses an average of 3% of its gross domestic product yearly to road crashes, the TSCZ said in 2017.
Why would being a Christian keep one from being in a bus crash? If God's plan was to keep Christians from dying then the world would be overflowing with Christians who never died for the last 2,000 years. Christians and non-Christians experience physical suffering. Even the apostle Paul did not live a pain-free life. He experienced quite a bit of hardship, including floggings for being outspoken with his faith. Paul and Timothy wrote 2 Corinthians together which says in chapter 4 verses 8 and 9: 8We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
That was not Billy Graham's message. It's never been about signing up for a church. It's always been about reconciling the relationship with God. If someone steals his dad's car, wouldn't it be right for him to fear the consequences? The only way for the relationship to be reconciled is to deal with the issue of stealing. If someone has sinned against God, isn't it right for him to fear the consequences? The only way for the relationship to be reconciled is to deal with the sin issue.
When a child misbehaves, do you whack it around the ears, in my case yes received many beatings, but it's not the correct method. (Bible however believes in punishment). Humans and sin are natural, like a child misbehaving, do you make child responsible? Child will misbehave at times, human adults too. We lock people up in prison, most often they come out worse than they went in because the rectification method is all about inflicting pain, not about education.
This was an idea I had yesterday and then couldn't remember it..... Adam must have had a lousy relationship with God when in the garden of Eden. Serpent comes along, spins a bs story and Adam believes serpent rather than believing God. What kind of person listens to bs when your close best friend told you otherwise? Adam must have had a shallow relationship to be sucked in so easy. Makes me wonder about this bs Adam & Eve story, not surprisingly.
Punishment is the bible's method of sorting out sin, mostly it refers to physical punishment. The bible came from God according to christians. Physical punishment on children has adverse psychological effects. Better to show patience, understanding, love and education so that children likewise grow in understanding and respect. Not so God, throw them in the fire! For centuries people have inflicted physical punishment on children, only recently they have banned it in western countries because of the damage, but, where it fails, many parents for example do not teach their children morals.
If you treat children like shit, are they going to grow up functional, balanced, respectful? Prolly not. If God places humans in a cauldron of grief, a world of wars, famines, evil, dog eat dog societies, are they going to have respect for God? Prolly not.
