But thats the problem, he didn't.

    Johos gave us the Watchtower.
    Muslims gave us the Qurʾān.
The Mormon's the Book of Mormon.
    Hindus the Vedas.
Bahá'i The Seven Valleys and The Four Valleys
    Buddhism the Tipitaka

All claiming to be from God's Spirit.

  5. The King James Bible compares pretty nicely with other versions that have not had the King James version influencing them. I gave a link to the early Aramaic manuscripts that have been recently translated into English without any influence by King James.

Are you trying to make a point that King James influenced the other commonly known English versions? And if so, in what way?

Does the King James version influence the translations that are in other languages? What about the Russian Bible? Arabic Bible? Hebrew Bible? The Spanish Bible? I think the Spanish Reina-Valera version might have had some revisions that were influenced by the English King James version, but I'm not entirely sure about that.

Regardless of who King James was or his lifestyle (I will not put my faith in a man, my faith is in Jesus), how close is the King James Bible to the manuscripts it was translated from?

  6. We both agree that there is a lot of deception when it comes to beliefs about God, but the fact that there is a lot of deception does not mean that there is no truth.

Isn't it possible that God could reveal Himself? I have plans this evening, sorry, I can't think this through any more at the moment, but it's a good topic, IMHO.

I think trading makes a good analogy of life.

When we are real noob traders, we think if we keep hunting, we will find the holy grail to trading, some indicator, or a bunch of indicators, with magic parameter numbers which will unleash untold quick wealth. Gann is a good example of a charlatan pseudo religous quack trader who preached he had keys to secret numbers.
Mature traders realize there is no such thing as holy grail and work around the holy grail theme by being more practical in their approach methods.

Christians believe christianity is the holy grail to eternal life in heaven.
That's because they have been sold a dream by other dreamers ahead of them, it just keeps cascading down, no doubt, you will teach your children this enduring myth and they their children. :)

Strangely, not one shred of evidence other than faith in the bible.

I'd imagine if we were to find manuscripts on Easter Island or maybe the Maya Temples in Peru, there would be more God messages.

Generally the scam runs along these line...

"Out the goodness of my heart I have some treasures I want to give you, just you, knowone else." (Ticket into heaven for a personal commitment).

"Know one knows how to get these treasures but just one person whom you need approach". (The Jews / Jesus).

"When you receive this gift don't tell anyone." (The ticket into heaven is unseen, unproven, non tangible, but you get it by personal faith).

"The gift of these treasures from me to you is free". (It's not free, you are expected to join a church, tithe 10% income for your remaining days on earth, and like multilevel marketing spread the word [evangelize] down the line to rope in more noobs, like a chain letter, keep it going.)
Your best bet to evangelize are the vulnerable, the weak, poor, sick, widows, dumb, elderly.
Rich people only get rich because they don't throw money away.
