  1. And you believe all the above because????

    A. You received it by divine revelation?
    B. You want it to be true?
    C. It is what makes sense to you?

Can you even explain all that is necessary for you to exist? Your body is fueled by food that comes from sources you probably know very little about, you have a brain that you've never seen and yet somehow it processes your thoughts without your thinking about how it is processing your thoughts, unless your tired, then you might think about how your thought process is slower than it usually is, but you are not actively monitoring the different communications going on inside your brain that actually become your thoughts. You have all of this given to you, and by Whom? Nobody, you say, or at least nobody that is capable of being known, you say. Yet, how do you know that? You don't even know how you are held together, and if maybe you are secretly a doctor and a trader and you do understand some of how you are held together, you don't make it happen. You don't tell your heart to pump or make your blood flow to the right places in your body, etc.

All of these are the evidence of design just as much as design engineering is required to plan out and then build a computer.

Would you say your trading computer just put itself together, evolution caused it to form? Well, no, you would say, because it's not alive. (Well, we hope it's not alive...with all the AI advancement, maybe....nevermind).

The thing is, evolution hasn't been shown to fill in the missing links. There is some adaptation that involves the re-arranging of already existing genetic material, but it cannot explain bacteria eventually evolving into an elephant. The only explanation that makes sense is that all things were created by God.

The Bible has prophesies that really should be looked into and invalidated before anyone would even consider risking his eternal living arrangement based on the idea that there is no God. God has a very good track record of revealing future events.
The Bible contains truth that makes sense, not because people imagined the truths the way they want them to be, but because God revealed the truths.
In fact, one proof that God wrote the Bible is that the messages within the Bible are NOT what the human heart wants to hear or what we would have come up with on our own!

I can ask the sames questions to you.
I never said I had the answers, but christians have an answer for everything.
Heathens arent making the claims, christians are...."christians know God, christians are going to heaven, the bible says this, the bible says that"..... total bunch of bollocks imo.

I just said previously, we know nothing, but christians know everything, not only do they know everything, they even know the future, lmao
Always banging on about bible prophesy, bunch of bs!

Fundamental christians are just full of shit, period,

  4. Not at all! The fact that you exist yet are not self-existent, you are dependent on so much having been given to you, should lead you to realize that God is your Creator!:)

  5. I can answer those questions.

The Bible was given by revelation from God. That is why we can trust what the message is.

There is also a lot of evidence for why the Bible is reliable. I've already shown you, and I am not in the mood to rewrite it, so I will just end this with, "He is Risen!"

    Have a Happy Resurrection Day!

Here is a nice evangelical message for anybody wanting to listen. It wasn't made for Easter, but it does discuss the resurrection a little. He says, "He's alive, He's living, and He's beaten the grave!"

I was trying to explain, where you missed the point, in suburbia, groups of lay people, no experience, huddle in groups drinking cups of tea, claiming they know the mind of God, by referring to a man made book called the bible, whom lay people insist is God's book.
To all intents and purposes, King James was homosexual btw.
But the universe goes for billions of light years either direction, the Creator's mind is fully known by a bunch of earthling no hopers?
You raise the point we are wonderful, created by God, so, whoopee, I know we didn't create ourselves.

  7. I didn't miss the point, but I might not have made my response clear. You are making a claim that people can't know God from the Bible, and inferring that people are incapable of knowing God's mind and "you will never know God, He is not one to be contained by human wisdom."

My response to that is how do you even know that? You only have reasoning as a resource to come up with that.

How do I come up with my belief that God has revealed Himself in the Bible? I use my reasoning AND all the evidence that points to the authenticity of the Bible as having been inspired by God for the purpose of revealing to us those things that God wants us to know about Him. Certainly God has not revealed everything about Himself. Even the Bible says so.

You might actually like the first part of this verse and agree with it:

The secret things belong to the LORD our God....Deuteronomy 29:29 a
But the middle part of the verse you are disagreeing with:

but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever... Deuteronomy 29:29 b

You are one who doesn't even know how your own self is put together or the workings of the universe. Yet you are trying to make the point that you KNOW that God has not revealed Himself, when, in fact, God says that He has revealed some things about Himself?

The real issue, it would seem to me, is probably not that you think that God is incapable of revealing Himself, but that you disagree with the revelation that has been given.

Which makes me think that the better topic for debate would be to change to the subject of evidence for the authenticity of the Scriptures as revelation of God and from God for people.

There's knowing about something, then there's also the knowing Someone. God wants us to know Him, as in knowing Him because we are in a relationship with Him.

Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent. John 17:3

Christians, all their hopes, dreams, aspirations, their whole life, their future, their children's future, revolves around a book.
    Amazing!

  10. On a smaller scale, Johnny walked into the classroom and sat down. His teacher asked, "Johnny, where is your book?" And Johnny replied, "Why are you always talking about a book. Why do I need a book? Does this book have anything to do with recess?" And Johnny never learned the math that was taught in that book that year. He did eventually learn it, but only after failing 5th grade math.

    :D

If God gave us a book to learn the things He wants us to know, we really need to learn what's in that Book!
