Another Christian whack job

  1. lol. I'm working on a biblically accurate response and it's nothing like your answer!!! :D I'm also staring at my charts trying to figure out if it would be beneficial to have one chart with the overnight price action cut out. I always have the full 24 hr futures data going, but the RTH session by itself can be interesting.

I'm sure you'll find a way to wiggle and waggle, twist and turn, there's always a way to shoot the heathen down. :)
I think sales would be a good job for you, you could sell ice to eskimos. Hahaha.
Politics would also suit you, that's where they talk bs all day long. :)
    Sorry, my sense of humour.

Studying charts is like studying tea leaves, you'll eventually find a pattern.

Don't forget to factor in randomness and external factors which have no bearing on the instrument but still affect the instrument.

  7. Considering that I haven't successfully convinced anyone on these threads, I don't think the Eskimos would buy any ice from me either. :(

    lol

  9. "someone on ET reading this stuff decides they want to try christianity"
Christianity isn't something you "try." :) I don't think God likes the expressions "Try God" or "Try Jesus." God says, "anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." Heb 11:16

"What's stopping them joining the wrong cult?
What's stopping them being brainwashed by fairy tales and head full of nonsense?
How do they prevent themselves being led down the garden path by con artists?"
Even Jesus acknowledged that false teachers would deceive many, especially as we get closer to the time of the Antichrist.

The following verse is specifically dealing with the 7 year tribulation, a time still in the future:

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Matthew 24:24

The Bible tells us that the Bible was given by God and is reliable for teaching sound doctrine.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness 2 Timothy 3:16 NKJV
On a personal note, I decided a long time ago that in order to avoid being deceived I would study the Bible more than I would listen to people/teachers/pastors/churches. I haven't regretted that.

Back to your answering your questions, I would also add that there are promises given in Scripture that apply to those seeking the truth about God. Salvation isn't one-sided. God has His part and people have their part in the process. God actively seeks every person and weighs their responses to His Spirit.

This post could go on for a while, so I'm going to try to end it with just a couple more brief thoughts, without going into more detail, unless someone wants more discussion on it.

Here is the main answer to your questions. God searches every heart, and sees the response people have to every truth ever encountered by them, whether it is through the witness of Creation or the witness of biblical truth about Himself. Romans 1 and 2 says that the natural response people have is to try to suppress truth which leads them to worshiping the creation rather than the Creator, which is what is seen in many other religions. The following verse shows that God promises to be found by anyone who seeks Him:

And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
So, why do so many say that they are seeking God sincerely in their hearts, yet they have strayed from Biblical truth? I don't want to list churches by name that hold to doctrines that are in error from the Scriptures, because this forum isn't the right place for that. But I will say that every church I know of that is not teaching the way of salvation accurately, I know that they aren't teaching it accurately because I have studied Scripture and know what the Bible says about the way of salvation, and I see where they have rejected the truth that is in the Bible. I'm also willing to debate anyone on here that disagrees. I'm not claiming to know who is saved and who isn't, but I do claim that the way of salvation is clear in the Bible. It is simple, and yet many churches will not teach the simplicity of the gospel.

Going back to answering your questions, although we are in a fallen condition and do not seek God for who He is in truth, or want to acknowledge the truth about our sin and God's authority, God does search the hearts of all and Scripture says that He is not willing that any should perish, but all should come to repentance. Although we don't, of our own, seek God in truth, God does seek people:

the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him John 4:23 ESV
It seems there are many verses that show that our responses to truth are very important to God.

The following verse is a paraphrase and seems to portray the idea that if one heeds truth, they will be given more; if one rejects truth, they will lose the truth they had earlier encountered. Jesus said (paraphrased):

To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them. Matthew 13:12 NLT

The Bible pleads with us earnestly not to harden our hearts to truth.

Today if you hear His voice, do NOT harden your hearts... Heb 3:15
Jesus also gave encouragement to not give up on seeking God. Some translations of this verse will say ask and it shall be given to you. However, the greek uses the tense that is better translated ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking, as shown in the Amplified version below:

So I say to you, ask and keep on asking, and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking, and you will find; knock and keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Luke 11:9 AMP

For everyone who keeps on asking [persistently], receives; and he who keeps on seeking [persistently], finds; and to him who keeps on knocking [persistently], the door will be opened. Luke 11:10 AMP

    Here' the big problemo.
When a person becomes 'converted to christian', the first thing they believe is God is perfect and they come up with these theories.....
    1) I'm saved
    2) God is perfect
    3) what I read and understand in the bible is right.
    4) I'm on God's side and God is on my side.
    5) God has blessed me with his Spirit and teaches me.
    6) Because of all the above, it naturally falls that everthing I believe about God is right.
    7) When stupid dark heathens who know nothing argue with me, its my duty to put them right.
    8) Heathens are wrong, I am right.
    9) Heathens are off to hell, I'm off to heaven.
    10) Whatever happens, I'm sticking to my guns, you can't sway me because God who is never wrong has spoken to me so you heathens are wrong wrong wrong!

    Welp, here's some more news....
    A) If you sit in your mothers basement in your underwear studying trading, you will never make as a trader.
    B) If you sit in your mothers basement in your underwear studying the bible, you will never know God.

On a dark cloudless night poke your head out the window and gaze upward, there are tiny dots of light in the sky, each one are stars, galaxies, worlds much larger than ours, and more diverse.
With all mankind's telescopes, microscopes, cameras, internet, libraries, a gazillion books, our knowledge is but a grain of sand in the ocean.

You can sit in a huddle with church mates reading and studying the bible, you will never know God, He is not one to be contained by human wisdom.

Think again, the universe stretches for billions of light years, you sit in your suburban house supping cups of tea thinking you know God?

If the devil (if it exists) wanted to cast deception on humans, surely this would be one of them. :)
