I was 22 years old, just finished NYU and was only making $250/week as a wire clerk on the Amex. She was a food editor scholastic magazine. We were both making very little money.

Since I eat turkey of one kind or another 4 to 5 days a week, I'm going to try and not eat turkey today!

    What an awesome thread.
For a couple of pages there, I had tears in my eyes, and was *literally* laughing out loud.

Happy Bird-day to you all (and around the globe, eh!).
Thank you for your fine, enthusiastic, *quick*, and even communal senses-of-humor.

    Jeez. Great thread...........

I see nobody has offered to provide any serious proof of their profits. If you are paranoid about posting your statements on a public forum then you can offer to show me in private.
The problem is there are so many people here that act all altruistic and helpful, diligently responding to every thread, spending hours of their time/ days of their life responding to posts when all that is not needed thanks to the little search feature on the top right. Every question imaginable has already been answered atleast once.
If a successful trader truly has an altruistic bone in his body, he won't waste time responding to posts on this forum instead he will provide proof because that is the best thing you can do to a new trader is show that it can be done. And providing proof takes half an hour at the max compared to the time it takes to respond to posts. After that it is upto the new trader to figure out how to do it.
When I get to being a successful trader that is what I would do. I won't answer any questions about strategy etc all I would do is provide proof to the newbies that it can be done. Because this business already has a bad reputation of being all talk/theory and no proof/results.
Anyway I am "walking away" from this forum until someone provides me proof even if it is in private. Because I have serious doubts that there are successful traders on this forum. There seems to be a whole lot of talk/theory with no results. Most people here seem only interested in being part of the "peanut gallery".

Hmm. With all the noise, this one is an interesting question, actually. Is it better to provide factual/intellectual input or is it better to provide moral support?

Hands down I would choose factual input especially due to the nature of this business.
