correlation vs Seasonal Hi Rudi, first of all I really hope it will work out for you with your spread trading! I am personally using a very simple filtering for my trades. I look thru the seasonal and correlation charts and whenever I find something interesting I put it into my chart software. It does not matter to me if the main idea is seasonal or correlation. After my first "filtering" is done, I try not to look at the seasonal or correlation charts anymore. The only information you can get out of a seasonal or correlation chart is: the spread will move up or down together with some dates from when to when. That's pretty much it. Then I just follow the current spread chart to see what is going on RIGHT NOW (somehow this is the most important part, right). You see, actually pretty simple Happy trading, Andy Jordan
Trade I got stopped out of my MW-W trade today. Exit on 2 x MWH6 - WH6 at 54.25 today (01/25). Hyp. profit on this trade is $1,138 - $250 commission = +$888. Hyp. account at $50,888. Happy trading, Andy
Trade I did exit my LC-FC spread on Friday 1/27 at -21,100 because my time stop got hit. Hyp. Profit on this trade is $975 - $100 commission = +$875. Hyp. account is at $51,763. New trade: I did enter 4 x 50*SK6 - 100*SMK6 on Friday 1/27 at $11,280. Risk is $630. The trades is based on seasonality and a 1-2-3 low.
Trade I took already profit on the S-SM trade on the next day I got in because it moved up nicely and I had to travel. Market moved then down to my entry level and I got out. Probably to early this time but. Hyp. profit on this trade was $432 - $200 commission = +$232. Hyp. account now at $51,995. Happy trading Andy
