I don’t think it’s quite the same. An order in order book which has been canceled or just added will not be immediately reflected on the price chart. You can choose to ignore this kind of info in your trading (I got no issues with that), but it’s not same data.
%% OK; + as a practical matter i dont care about canceled orders or contracts pending even many appraisers note that. And thats in a market[RE] where its hard to cancel contracts. Of course @ end of the day = its the same price , assume correct data but the smaller the time frame the more the errors. Of course the settlement price may differ from 3;00CST close,i've used both + seldom care about that difference also. I"M also not sayin' some could not find some good patterns in canceled orders. Thanks

As I said earlier; took it easy and didn't trade much for the whole month and even less in the last week. - Although I am benchmarking my performance against s&p, but really it should be against the nasdaq, due to the account being tech heavy. - Booked some loss this month, which can be seen reflected in the current cash. - With money printing pared back and bonus benchmark at year-end done, I am am unable to understand the Jan 3rd rally. I will be booking profits a little bit here and there going forward. - Although indices show a healthy profit, growth stocks are severely down since the tops they made almost a year back. Time to start thinking about them again. - Wish you all a Happy New Year, and hope the party continues. Better than the carnage on Nasdaq, but that doesn't bring much solace to me. - I am generally a bullish trend trader, but the last two months have made me question a lot of my trading decisions. I read the market right, got out of almost all of the bullish trades; that being said, not making any money out of the big bear moves has made me very uneasy. - Volatility last month was so good that successful traders who played it right don't have to trade for a few months atleast. - I am not a full time trader and can only trade 30 mins at start and last one hour of the market, but better trade setup is still possible. - This year, I will be looking at more entry/exit signs from the charts, instead of totally playing by feel. Also, no more mental stops. Trailing stops and heavy use of OSO and OCO trades will be the first changes that I will incorporate for 2022. Wish me luck. Note: Comparison index changed to Nasdaq. Holdings are mostly tech heavy and it made no sense to compare against the S&P. With today's meltdown, account is already down a lot. Actually this is one of my better accounts, can't even look at other long-term ones - Rus/Ukr: First of all war is terrible for all and I am deeply saddened with the loss of life on both sides. Every casualty is sombebodies loved one. It seems most of the objectives of Rus will be met in another few weeks and an agreement should be approved by all parties in Mid Apr. - Gold: Is having a tremendous run, I was ok positioned for it but not as much as I would have liked. With all avenues being cut off Rus might sell some of the stockpile. I am not a Gold bug, it's a good alternative and I don't keep more than 1-2% of it. - Oil: This is going to get worse for another month or so, and then start easing up. Renenwables will start commanding more respect going forward. - Growth stocks: Charts are broken, there are no buyers, lets see when the carnage will end. - We are in the beginning of a terrible phase which started with Covid. Tightened stop losses, reduced trading frequency and made more chart based decisions. Ukr/Ru war has now turned attritional. It is a race to bottom with no winners, even for proxy fighters. Winter prospects are not looking good in Europe. Hope to not see a repeat across Formosa strait. Its internal election year for CCP, miscalculations can easily happen as an unprecedented 3rd term is being sought in China. Gold is historically an inflation hedge and it's at the bottom of multi year trading range. Oil demand is reducing and it can be seen in the price at the pump. I expect midweek inflation figure to show that it is cooling further. We are in deep recession for some time and doesn't look like we have reached bottom. Last months bear market rally was a lot due to short-covering. Please be careful, short float is pretty low these days. Market is fickle right now for amateurs, looks weak long term but short term is oversold. Hope that the 2022 last quarter will be better than the first three.
