Questions:

1- Is your initial stop the exact High/Low of the previous 5-min bar
or is it 1-tick higher/lower than the 5-min bar? And can you tell us
the reasoning behind your decision where to place your stop?

high/low + 1 tick. The idea is a very close stop. I stay only with the trades that go immediately into my direction. Otherwise I get out very quick without any big loss.

2- You state you "(will trail my stop on the entry) and then you
also say after 8 ticks you move your stop to b/e...? Are you trailing
your stop with an 8-tick increment at entry or ???

I trail my entry stop on 5 min until I can move my stop to b/e (in ym after 10 ticks, in er and ec after 8 ticks). Then I wait until I get kicked out or if I get filled on my first lot. If filled on my first lot I trail the second lot on the same time frame that I used for the entry (10/30 or 60 min.)

3- How do your trail your second lot with the 30/60-min bars?
And is this with the 10-min entries and/or the 30/60-min entries?

4- Have you backtested this setup and are you running it with
an automatic program aka... StrategyRunner, ect.?

at the moment we at tradingeducators.com are working on Strategy Runner. We will start with some beta testers the next few weeks.

5- And will you be trading any RRhooks? And if not, why not?

just not used to it. sometimes I trade reversal if I get the feeling it's worth to take.

Result for today: +2 ticks (+$10)

Mini Russell 10 minutes: 9:00am – Short TTE (RH) at 5679, initial stop at 5692 – all out at 5687.

Mini Russell 30 minutes: 9:30am – Short TTE (RH) at 5675, initial stop at 5686 – covered first lot at 5665, second at b/e.

Result for today: -6 ticks (-$60)

Euro FX: +39 ticks (+$487.50)
Mini Dow: +195 (+$975)
Mini Russell: +183 (+$1830)

August:
Euro FX: +24 ticks (+$300)
Mini Dow: +212 (+$1,060)
Mini Russell: +19 (+$190)

September (till now):
Mini Dow: -83 ticks (-$415)
Mini Russell: +44 ticks (+$440)

 

Hi Andy!

Why not EuroFX at the moment? Geht doch ganz gut, der Kollege... Yesterday I pulled out 17 pips there and I missed a 40 pip move that could have brought me 30 cause I was away from screen. But anyway: was a clear day with clear signals. Whats your problem with it a.t.m.?

 

You are right. The Euro FX looks better again. But I want to see it trading nicely for some time not only for a few days. But it's great when you can make money with it. Stay with it!

Mini Dow 10 minutes: 9:10am – Long TTE (RH) at 10253, initial stop at 10245 – covered first lot at 10263, second at 10269.

Result for today: +18 ticks (+$90)

Mini Russell 10 minutes: 9:30am – Long TTE (RH) at 5745, initial stop at 5734 – covered first lot at 5754 (time stop), second at 5751.

Result for today: +15 ticks (+$150)

Yes im gonna stay with it. I developed a feeling for special situations in this market. There is no time when its running good or bad in my trading style. Why was it for you not comfortable to trade? Can you tell me?

Oh, what a day. At the moment, day trading isn’t fun at all! Very difficult!

Mini Russell 10 minutes: 8:50am – Long TTE (1-2-3) at 5724, initial stop at 5704 – all out at 5707.

Mini Russell 30 minutes: 9:00am – Short TTE (RH) at 5701, initial stop at 5721 – all out at 5715.

Result for today: -62 ticks (-$620)

Pretty choppy day but there was one hell of a nice "gimme" in the ES around 12:30. Touched the upper BB, yesterdays afternoon low and 15, 30, and 60 20emas all at the same time.

p.s. Was a 123 hi, too , I believe.

 

Im sorry for you, Andy...

You used pretty wide stops. Thats painful if they got hit. I said good bye to that kinda stops months ago.
