  3. Trade 09/12 afternoon

Just did another skalp, long at 725.0 for 8 ticks.

The markets slows down at around 10:00 am but wakes up around 1:00 pm again. Difficult to give a exact time when to watch for the afternoon trading. It's necessary to watch the market to see what is going on.

You will find the trade under the URL above.

    happy trading,
    Andy

  4. Great Journal Andy, its a great inspiration!

When looking att the chart You posted today I noticed three more Rh, and I'm just curious what amke You skip those trades?

Do You use a filter of any kind?

    Keep up the good work!

  5. Thank you Fredrik!

    There are a few filters:

I try not to trade the first 5 - 10 minutes at the open. I (normally) trade only till 10:00 AM CST, and sometimes in the afternoon when the market gets active again (can not give you any precise time schedule for that, you have to watch the market).

I also try only to get for one winner a day. If the first trade is a losing trade I try again.

Unfortunately, today it didn't work out. I got 2 losing trades in a row.

  6. Hi Andy-

While I don't trade futures (yet) I am more interested in how you find trading from the Carribean. I am contemplating making the move myself for portions of the year. Do you have a reliable, high speed connection to the markets you trade? Did you bring your own hardware with you when you made the move? Any concerns other than the weather during hurricane season?

thanks and keep up the good work.

  7. Hi Hilo,

well the internet connection is very good and very reliable. So far I haven't had any major problem in the last 2 years. There is a big problem regarding electricity but most apartments provide you electricity via generator or batteries.

You should bring your own hardware because all they import is expensive. I am using a laptop with an additional monitor.

Depending where you plan to stay (north or south) you will face sometimes problems during the hurricane season. This means a lot of rain and strong winds from time to time but that's pretty much it. The DR is pretty lucky regarding the hurricanes. Most of the time Haiti got the problems.

Just let me know if you have any further questions.

    Take care,
    Andy

  8. Interesting, how come? Is it a psychological aspect, or is it just statistical?

I've noticed myself that if my first trade is a winner, I tend to get less disciplined and less focused. On the other hand if the first is a loss, I get more focused... probably for I dont want to end a day in the loosing territory...

    Thanks for replying Andy!

    Have a great day

  9. Hi Fredrik,

it is mainly because I want to keep myself from overtrading. When I try to go only for one winner I try to get the best trade and I am more focused.

It just seems to work better for me to go for less trades.

    Have a good trading day,

    Andy
