Andy's Day and Position Trading Journal

Discussion in 'Journals' started by Jordan_Andy, Jul 26, 2004.

  1. Hi Bastia,

my stop is the same as my target and the time stop is the following.:

entering on a 10 min chart I exit my first half after 10 min if not in the profit and my second half 10 min later.

I do the same when trading on a tick chart but using the ticks instead of minutes.

    happy trading

  2. Jordan,
I also trade the Dow Mini. I also emply somewhat of a similar method. . . . but I use 5 min. and one min. charts in sync with each other. As a set-up is developing, I look for a good breakout entry on the one min. bars . . . and what for a fast=set stochastics to be turning. These things in sync give me 2-3 good trades per day.

  3. Hi Bruce,

sounds good to me. 2 - 3 good trades per day is more then enough. It is probably one of the secrets to take only the "best" trades.

    Happy trading,
    Andy

  4. Jordan,
You are right. When I look at my loosing days, they are always days when I traded TOO MANY times. Best to wait for the BEST / 'AAA' trades. . . . and not to be fooled by the phony / junky set-ups. It takes patience & discipline. . . . which most traders do not have.

  7. Today's trades 07/26

    Short comment:

The first and last trade on the Russell was based on a reversal bar.

I did a trade in the afternoon on the Russell. I am normally not trading the Euro after 11:00 AM CST, but sometimes I have a look into the indices in the afternoon.

    Happy trading,
    Andy

  9. Trade 07/31

I was lucky catching a early trade today. Normally I don't trade before 7.20 AM but this one did look too good.

I wasn't that lucky with my second trade, got stopped out at b/e after moving my stop.

    Happy trading,

  10. New Idea !

Someone cam up with a good idea and asked, why I am not posting trades from a real account.

Well, all trades are 1:1 from a real account. But he is right, why not trading from a real account and showing the results? Am I running into problems with Elitetrader? If so, I hope someone will let me know.

Give me a few days and I will set up a $20k account I am going to use for this journal.

Should be ready in a few days.

    Happy trading,
    Andy
