Andy's Day and Position Trading Journal

  1. Hi,

I am using RefcoExpress because I am mainly trading open outcry markets (spreads).

I am not a big day trader and for the spread trading the time factor is not such a big deal.

My backup...yes, my telephone to the broker! :)

Internet is really up to date here in the Dom Rep and very reliable. I didn't have ANY problem at all the last 1 1/2 years.

    Regards

    Andy

  2. Sorry Guys, there is not much going on in this journal I know. But I just can not find the time. Also my spread trading journal looks very boring. My traveling is over in about a week and I hope I will get some action when I get back to trading.

Anyway...happy trading to everyone. I hope you are all making money.

  3. Hi Traders,

I am going to activate my journal again. Because I am not able to spend much time for day trading every day I will only look for some scalp trades (all in - all out). I will try to catch only a few ticks with a lot of contracts in the morning hours CST. Just using 1-2-3 and the RH for my entry on a 10 min chart and 500 tick chart.

Please forgive me but I am not going to post any charts, I just don't find the time but I will let you know the time frame I was trading, the entry and the time for the entry. It will be easy for you to see the trade on your own charts.

    I will trade a hypothetical $20k account.

    Let's see how everything goes.

    Happy trading everyone,

    Andy Jordan

  5. Trade

I did a scalp trade this morning:

Ross Hook on 10 min chart. 4 x short at 10:10 AM CST the Euro at 1.2664 with a target/stop of 8 ticks. Filled at 1.2656 a few minutes later.

    Hyp. profit $400 - commission of $32 (I am calculation 8$ round turn) = $368.

    Hyp. account now at $20,368.

  6. Trade 07/25

Just by chance I switched over to see what the ES is doing in the afternoon and I jumped in on a Ross Hook at 1272.57 with 4 contracts for 4 ticks.

All this just happend at 14:13 PM CST on a 500 tick chart.

    I could cash in $200 - $32 commission = $168.

    Hyp. account at $20,536.-

  8. Trade 07/26

Even if it was not really a strong market I tried a long trade on the euro based on a 500 tick chart. Long at 10:00 AM at 1,2664 for 5 ticks with 5 contracts.

    Hyp. loss -$375 - commission $40 = -$415.

    Hyp. account now at $20,289.

    Happy trading

Short at 699.2 (slippage) for 12 ticks at 2:40 PM, 4 contracts.

    Could make $480 - commission $32 = $448.

    Hyp. account now at $20,737.

    Happy trading,

    Andy

  10. Hi Andy!

Nice to see you back in day-trading. The e-mini Russell 2000 has been a wonderful market for scalping these past several months. Hopefully this will continue!... :)

    Questions:

    1) What kind of a price stop are you using? Is it the same as your target?

    2) Also, how about a time stop?

    Thanks!
