good for you porgie. i just hope the system is as consistent as andys results!

i can see why andy takes his profits quick now, although i imagine a lot of andys skill is in his trade selection/filtering. not all 123 & hooks are this profitable - especially given the tight stop he seems to use - from what i can see

  3. Today’s Day Trading – 02/24

I am not very happy with YM and ER at the moment. Will change to paper trading till it gets better again.

Euro FX 3 minutes: 7:53am – Short TTE (RH) at 13237, risk/target 6 ticks – all out at 13236 (time stop).

    Euro FX 10 minutes: 9:10am – Short TTE (RH) at 13221, risk/target 6 ticks – all out at 13219.

Result for today: +6 ticks (+$75)

Mini Russell 3 minutes: 9:21am – Long (actually nothing – no RH and no 1-2-3) at 6204, risk/target 6 ticks – all out at 6198.

Result for today: -12 ticks (-$120)

To be consistent with my recordings I add my monthly summary (hypothetical result due to 2 contracts):

    Euro FX: +76 ticks (+$950) 23 trades
    Mini Dow: -46 ticks (-$230) 9 trades
    Mini Russell: +120 ticks (+$120) 3 trades

    February:

andy - as your target exits are only 6 or so ticks away, do you exit with a limit or market order?

    cheers

  6. Hi Porgi,

I really hope it will work out for you. Actually I can not say so much about mechanical systems. Would be interesting to see how everything goes for you. Maybe you can give us an update in a few month to see how you are doing.

    Happy trading,

    Andy

  7. Ok Guys I know you all like day trading but you may have a look at my other journal http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41382.

Well, trading spreads is not so exiting as day trading but whenever you are fed up with losing money all the time you may want to give it a try.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Have all a nice weekend,

    Andy

    Andy,

How did you become acquainted with spread trading? I'd like to become more familiar with this style and was wondering how you developed your strategy and the learning curve you experienced. Thanks for sharing your thoughs and trades.
