Andy's Day and Position Trading Journal

I will start this year with only scalping the markets. It's actually the typical "Joe Ross" method:

I will trade the Euro FX and the indices on 3 minutes. Risk/Target are 6 ticks. Stop to b/e after 5 ticks. I will exit not later then 3 bars after my entry (time stop).

I will go for only one good trade each day (in the currencies and the indices). Trading the Euro FX from 7.20am till 10.00am and the indices from 8.30am till 10.00am.

If I get a losing trade I will go for another one. I will quit trading after 2 losing trades.

Let's see what we get in 2005.

Yes, Fred...the same. Just changed the time frame and the risk/target for scalping.

I see you are not allowing a runner with the 2nd contract(s) like in your trading plan before this one?

 

Yes Version, that's right...only scalping at the moment.

Euro FX 3 minutes:7:32am – Long TTE (RH) at 12963, initial stop/target 6 ticks – all out at 12967. 9:26am – Short TTE (RH) at 12956, initial stop/target 6 ticks – all out at 12962.

Result for today: -4 ticks (-$50)

Mini Dow 3 minutes: 9:20am – Long TTE (RH) at 10542, initial stop/target 6 ticks – all out at 10545.

Result for today: +6 ticks (+$30)

Mini Russell 2000: 9:34am – Short TTE (RH) at 6123, initial stop/target 6 ticks – all out at 6129.

Result for today: +8 ticks (+$100)

Mini Dow 3 minutes: 9:02am – Short TTE (RH) at 10483, initial stop/target 6 ticks – all out at 10489. 9:08am – Long TTE (1-2-3) at 10493, initial stop/target 6 ticks – all out at 10487.

Result for today: -24 ticks (-$120)

Mini Russell 2000: 9:20am – Long TTE (RH) at 6147, initial stop/target 6 ticks – all out at 6153.

Result for today: +12 ticks (+$120)

Today’s Day Trading – 01/24


I am not happy trading the indices at the moment. Will stay with Euro FX at the moment for my day trading but reduce my activity in YM and ER.

Mini Dow 3 minutes: 8:41am – Long TTE (RH) at 10425, initial stop/target 6 ticks – all out at 10419. 9:02am – Short TTE (RH) at 10391, initial stop/target 6 ticks – all out at 10397.

Result for today: -24 ticks (-$120)
