As others have suggested it's all about the software available.

A stock investor may decide which platform has better potential. A user just gets what does the job here and now, not "could do the job better if someone developed software for it".

  2. It's about CHOICE and CONTROL.

With ANDROID, you have a TON of choices in design and can choose from many different styles and with these phones, are much more open to configuration by the user.

When you buy an apple product, they control what you can get and what you can do. Of course, lair will claim that you can 'jailbreak' the phone, but then that really isn't the way that apple wanted you to use it, now is it?

When you buy an app for the iphone, it has to be bought through apple, talk about control. The app must also be approved by apple. Just imagine if you had to pay Microsoft for every program on your PC. Aren't you glad Microsoft didn't adopt that policy 25 years ago.

HTC has been developing handheld devices for longer than anyone, as they were makers of the Compaq iPaq ~ 15 years ago. This was a very popular item and noticed who COPIED who in the naming convention?

While apple had a 143% year over year growth in iphone sales, Samsung's Android smartphone growth rate was 500%. By the way, apple does not make the internal components of their phones.

In my personal experience, everyone I have attempted to work with (developing trading software) using an apple product, has been a disaster. They moved to apple apparently because they could not USE A COMPUTER.

It's obvious that giving the mac the ability to run Windows was by design, as they knew someone might want to use it for something productive. Several times, I installed WINDOWS on a mac because mac didn't have software choices that were similar or capable of completing certain tasks.

According to a Nielsen survey, Android-based phones now own 39 percent of the U.S. market compared to Apple’s 28 percent.

As for the ipad, the funniest thing about this device is that when I see one, it's usually being used as a baby-sitter. The parents give it to the kids to keep them busy.

As one reader on another forum indicated:

"Yes Android is very quickly gaining on iOS, and for a good reason. It does what the end users want, the way they want it, when they want it. When people are learning to ride a bike, there comes a time when it is time to take the training wheels off and show the world that you can do it on your own. iPhone users need to grow up and show Apple that they are capable of thinking for themselves, and don't need to be coddled like a young child."

  3. Tell me what 'you can do with your android' who is SO important that you can't with APPLE ios.

Looking forward to be hit in the face with real ground braking items you're going to sum me up.

Same with Android phones. You have to buy applications from the official store and there is a small bit of software which comes with the device from the manufacturer.

In order to install any software that wasn't "approved", a user has to "root" an Android phone, which is a procedure analogous to "jailbreaking".

  5. Got SWYPE? May be able to get it with jailbreak.

With the EVO, there is a mic button anytime the keyboard is present. The iphone now has an 'app' for this, but the EVO had it over a year ago and instead of typing, all you have to do is speak into the phone and it types for you. As I said, you have an 'app' now, but it did not come with the phone and it is not integrated into the keyboard. So, I guess you are going to tell me that was copied from apple? I am certain you won't admit when apple copies someone else?

Turn by turn navigation built into the phone?

The phone TALKS TO YOU ... just as a GPS would. Sprint has had this for YEARS.

I'm not talking about Google maps or PAYING $100 for Tom Tom.

I have yet to meet anyone that has switched from the iphone to an ANDROID and was unhappy. However, I know countless that came to the ANDROID platform from the iphone and are SO pleased to make the move.

Got FLASH? Once again, maybe with jailbreak. I have heard that there is a product available, but why wait. You can have it all with the ANDROID platform. By the way, FLASH isn't ground-breaking...been around for years.

  6. This is not true, when SWYPE was in beta form, it was installed via a download and it wasn't available in the app store. No root (jailbreak) was required.

  7. 3D Camera for both still pictures and video

3D Display with no need for special glasses

    4G SPEED

Where is apple on this GROUND BREAKING technology?
    We've had 4G for OVER A YEAR!

Sorry, but an 'app' won't help you with these, you will have to upgrade the hardware...if you're waiting on apple, good luck.

  8. I have a Iphone 3gs and wife has an android. The iphone is sooo much easier to use. I'm not a phone programmer and don't want to become one, I just want something that works is dependable and low stress, iphone does that for me. I will be moving back to verizon when the iphone 5 comes out.

  10. The previous post just confirmed what I was trying to say...if you want to 'feel' as though you are technologically savvy or ahead of the curve in terms of technology...get an iphone, stick your head in the sand and listen to everything they tell you.

The iphones are BEHIND THE CURVE and just like a fanboy, he will do his very best to defend them...as we see here.

The evidence is proven, No 4G, NO 3D screen, No 3D Camera, No integrated voice recognition, No integrated GPS with turn-by-turn voice navigation.

ALL THESE, I USE ALMOST DAILY and you can't, because the iphone doesn't have them...sorry...go bury your head back in the sand and listen to what they tell you.

    LOL, what a JOKE!

Next thing I know, someone is going to come on here and tell me the iphone 4 was 4g...LMAO...some people are so savvy, it's scary...especially apple fanboys...LMAO
