    I always thought New York city is too good for Amazon tbh. I mean Amazon, aside from administrative offices is just a bunch of warehouses where they pack boxes of stuff to be shipped all over the place. his is best suited for that's in the middle of nowhere that's got lots of space. Should we really free up prime real estate New York city that's got quaint neighbourhood community for that? I always thought New York is for "high-level" stuff like art, business, fashion and etc., so maybe lack of integration of local community is right. Seriously the way that Amazon just left the project is kind of insulting and disrespectful. It's like "I am the king you should be thankful that I choose you to take off my shoes. How dare you accuse me of not giving a s*** about you?" No business is ever big enough to think that way. A business to its community is always a symbiotic relationship, never a one-way street especially when Amazon is not really creating those jobs for free there; it's getting a grant of $500 million from the State of New York and state and city tax breaks that would have eventually totaled more than $2 billion, nothing for Amazon to be cocky about. For New York though, it shouldn't be this desperate. Really it's great if Amazon makes its home there. If not, there will be other companies and opportunities that will come along, perhaps more suited for New York. My dad always said "Always let others come to you and never go pander to others. Nothing good ever comes out of that".

    I think Amazon was going to put tech and marketing jobs in Long Island city. I seriously doubt they were going to have boxes and warehouse space in hq2.

  3. In response to Cuomo’s conversation with Bezos some reports are Mr. Bezos texted Cuomo a pic of his ding a ling with a brief note on what NYC could do with it. So they got that going for them, which is good.

    AOC has ambition for a higher office. She is looking for publicity everywhere.

    Well that AOC honey; is dumb about money. I have orderered most of my books @ AMZN+ libraries LOL .But bought last one @ non AMZN, mainly because they believe it or not, ''raised the bid on me on a trading book real time '' Almost bought from a risky book seller , but like TSLA, had too much bad customer service ;AMZN=good customer service:caution::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

    I wish they would have passed that law; cutting Congress pay,shutdown, like happened to so many of them.But another good thing about that; many simple minded figured a gov job was a promise/prediction of future.......LOL. I also noted AMZN i would never buy that trading book that they raised the price on me in real time. :D:DLOL+ true

  9. I agree;
    +I'm willing to help give/grant AO Cotez a one way ticket to Caracas +$6.66. WHY?? Because she has about as much sense as a beast,so give her one month gov salary of $6.66.I heard on the news you can buy a burger + Coke for $6.00, one month socialist salary, in Caracas.:D:D

  10. It was for a HQ which means not warehousing. As you indicate their fulfillment centers are spread out in industrial parks in cheaper locations. This was for technology and exeuctive level jobs and income.

    The tax benefits were basically benefits on future income not losing out on something NY already had in their pockets. But the balance always is, waiving property and corporate taxes in exchange for the economic development and growth of the area and what surrounds it.

    One example is the Capital One Arena in downtown D.C. which was built in a dead shitty area of downtown D.C. (at the time it was built, the MCI Center) and what happened to the surrounding neighborhood after it was built. It is like a butterfly effect spreading out.
