As I already stated above, you need to be aware of your surrounding and know when to front run your competition or let it pass. This ain't something you can learn from books. It comes from long years of observation, aka experience. And that, my friend, is called "street smart", which I'm starting to feel you lack.

    Poor explanation.
You must not know what being "street-smart" means.

    Must have missed that one.

Correct. In reference to the foolishness that goes on here in ET, I'm wet behind the ears on who's who and who spews refuse out of their mouth or not.

When it comes to trading, you'll have to get to know me more to make that judgment.

Well, let me just give you a friendly reminder: "Dude, why waste your time making such a distinction in the first place?"

In order for me to get to know you, you'll need to show me your actual trades. I don't take lightly to those who only talk.

I leave it at there. Good luck to you. I am experienced enough to tell how good you are at trading based on your posts.

Not a problem. Second or third week of January I start trading again. Link me your thread in which you've done the same. Show me how you maneuver in these streets. Can't have some chump trying to check me and he's not validated.

  7. A psychology degree might help actually since most of it covers human susceptibility to manipulation, incentives, rewards / punishment and ultimately trauma and its effects. And then there is the psychology of the crowd, and acceptance of authority figures (most people are looking for this, believe it or not).

But the university itself tends to box in your mind. Better to be raised on the street like SML and learn all the tricks in the wild. No one's got your back, in the market!

  8. My neighbor has a couple of those. I can assure you, they obey when you alpha them. And who's the alpha in the market? The one with enough money to just keep buying, and buying and buying..... :D

OMG did you say validation? SMH. Obviously, you must be a newcomer so I'll forgive ya :).

Here's the fact (not making this shit up): Nobody on this damn site posted more trades in REAL TIME than me. I've posted literally thousands of trades over the years. You can find them all in my previous posts (https://www.elitetrader.com/et/search/member?user_id=105578). Also you're welcome to check me out in the "ES Journal" thread (https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/es-journal-2023-2024.371508/), where I mostly hang out during the day when the market is open.

BTW one word of advice: I don't care if you post trades or make directional calls. Just do it in real time. None of that hindsight crap.

Lastly, I should further add that "street smart" ain't just experience alone. It's quick-witted experience. Whatever that means.
