Ricter is making a technical point.
At times, Ricter likes to do that.
Lawyers do it all the time... when their clients suck.

My motive is to stay focused and try to achieve some clarity of thought. Seriously. Not sure it's worth the trouble, our threads go all over the place every day.

Yes.. but the point was put forth because the the writer knew "rate of growth" is a subtle point and that most would hear and publish the wrong idea.

  4. these words will give you insite into what those of us who try to be pragmatic face on this site if you strive to reach some of the people on et:

No democratic delusion is more fatuous than that which holds that all men are capable of reason, and hence susceptible to conversion by evidence. it is mainly that the great majority of the men they seek to reach are quite incapable of comprehending any evidence, good or bad. HL Mencken:

  5. Table 1.1, federal spending in 2012 is expected to be almost $3.8 trillion. That is the highest in history, peacetime or wartime. In fact, it is more than the cumulative total of all years from 1789 through 1974, the first 186 years of our country's existence.

Is Obama lying or is Obama and the WH's own published data lying?

Remember the chat we had quite a while ago, about values and facts?

"Lead with values, to give the facts a fighting chance."

  8. Notice how both of them have refused to touch the White House's own numbers from their website?

    Facts aren't of their interest.

Tide detergent at a high spin rate IS and that's after all the spots have been pre-treated.

  10. This is a lie, which is why he had to make it up by saying 'for example'.

That's the article, now point out where he said that 825 billion spending fell under Bush.
