An Obama Spending Spree? Hardly

  1. Excellent point, but don't expect the idiot OP to acknowledge it.

It's just further proof that this left-right bullshit is a pointless diversion.

    they won't take responsibility

Nutting would be some isolated nutjob normally, but people like Pelosi, Maddow, and even Obama are now quoting his crap? This is a national tragedy.

Coming back to this one late.

Everyone is spinning the data to suit their own agenda. Gross spending vs. spending/GDP vs. rate of spending growth, etc.

  4. So the main thing that might be criticized is the stimulus bill right? There are no other significant elective expenditures under Obama's watch. Would that be correct?

I would say that's correct. Of the discretionary spending, the bailouts, so I'm told, have been largely paid back with interest (not to mention the jobs saved).

  6. Obama has used the same old rhetoric about blaming Bush. He didn't even count the first 6 months of his administration in the numbers he used. Obama fixed the books.

What about the trillions being loaned at below market rates and insufficient security by fannie mae right now... everyday.

The bailouts paid back, if you add them all up there were 13 trillion in bailouts.

And probably a devaluation of the dollar of about 20 percent relative to goods we actually use. That is trillions and trillions and trillions of dollars over time and a destruction of years of savings.

No democrats and most republicans should claim to be anything but fiscal terrorists. If we are concerned cutting spending will hurt the economy then...

    Eliminate income taxes..

    that will stimulate the economy.

Then cut spending to match revenues starting in 1 year.

There is no need to spin anything Ricter, just examine the data and who signed what into law. TARP I was basically low cost (debatable if it was worth it it), TARP II was an auto bailout which has not been paid back. Stimulus and all Obama's other discretionary spending is the point here, the point is the democrats will not take responsibility for it and it is spun it a quite dishonest fashion. To claim that Obama is 'tight fisted' and fiscally the most frugal president in recent history is such a bald distortion of what has transpired that it would normally be considered fraud it it were a CEO making the same claim.
