An Incredible invention that may never see the light of day

    This guy created a mechanism for a table saw, that knows the difference between wood, and a finger, the second it touches a finger the blade stops instantly, without doing any damage to the finger. Its almost like an Airbag for a table saw. The guy actually attempts to put HIS OWN FINGER THROUGH THE TABLE SAW, and it stops dead in its tracks, and he doesnt even get nicked.

    Hopefully companies arent scared of the liability risk if this thing malfunctions. This is an amazing invention.

    Not sure why you think it won't see the light of day. It is a very popular tablesaw amongst woodworkers.

    There is also a big push right now by safety organizations to force all commercial saws to implement saw stop tech. But Sawstop owns the patent and they would all have to license from them. Some of the more well known brands are already working on it.

    They sell those at a nearby Woodcraft. They will give you a gift cert if you touch the blade with your finger, so far no takers. :D
