Amy Coney Barrett - let the games begin

  1. Kayleigh McEnany says in briefing that Amy Coney Barrett is a "Rhodes scholar." Barrett did not receive a Rhodes Scholarship, but rather received a bachelor's degree from Rhodes College in Memphis.

    That was funny haha

  2. Yeh. well, the press secretary messed up Barrett's record, not Barrett.

Contrast that with Joe, who messed up his own record.

Said he attended Delaware State. Did not attend Delaware State. And personally if I had attended Delaware State, I would lie to say that I had not.

Biden said he was a student at Delaware State University; school says otherwise
Biden had made the claim during an October 2019 town hall event ahead of the South Carolina primary

  3. Need to secure Amy Coney Barrett immediately and aggressively from covid so that progress will continue on that front.

It would be a definite fly in the ointment if she became too sick to testify between now and the election. The republicans would then have to confirm her anyway - even without testifying- which would cause many on the left to commit hari kari.

    Tards, lookin out for you.

Why worry about it? If Trump will come through without trouble, as posters here are asserting (with charts!) then she most certainly will.

    v
Amy Coney Barrett tested negative for COVID on Friday according to the press. However she has met with many people over the past week who are now confirmed as positive (Sen. Mike Lee, etc.)

Hmm... If Murkowski and Collins don’t show for proceedings on Barrett and Lee is in isolation the senate cannot have a quorum without a democrat and confirmation proceedings cannot begin.

Pence does not count for quorum. A quorum requires 51 senators, no exceptions.

  7. Okay, well, might be best to go ahead and confirm her on Monday then if there is possibility that she might be ill in the near future.

The greater fear is that enough Republican Senators who met with her at the White House will be sick enough from COVID that they will not an available healthy quorum on the Judiciary committee or within the Senate to confirm her.

  9. And Murkowski would suddenly not have that Alaska to Canada pipeline that she is beating her chest over.

    giggle.

  10. The effort just needs to go forward. What can be controlled, should be controlled. What can't can't. Just do number one for sure and then work on number two. Life 101.
