Almost. By next Friday is reasonable expectation for ICE US and ICE UK to be available for live trading. Once active - official notice will be sent out.
If a fart in the market takes you out of the trading business...that would imply the trader was not responsible enough with money management, position size management and capital requirements regardless to AMP offers. Simply, its a trader that should not be trading if a "fart" can take him/her out of the business like that. Yet, I do see something odd with the $500 account minimum requirement while the thread title has the words "Pro" and "Experience...Users" in the title because we all know what type of retail traders will be attracted to those $500 account minimum deals...the same type of retail traders we want on the other side of our trades. Maybe AMP has something in place to identify traders that are not experience with their software and that in itself may exclude the newbie traders that only see that $500 account minimum and nothing else.
Bingo....in our opinion that is the beauty of this solution. X_Trader use to be only accessible to professional traders that would pay $1K+ monthly platform subscription. AMP's ability to support the average retail trader, with low account minimums, low day trade margins, 24 hour customers service and transactional pricing - allows our customers to get access to the X_Trader trading platform and all of its features that was previously only used by professional traders, prop shops, banks and institutional investors. However, we are hearing there are advantages to the transactional pricing for the professionals traders too. During the holidays or summer vacations, they like the fact that they can switch to the transactional pricing model because they will not be trading that much and previously would be stuck having to pay the monthly subscription even though their trading volume was going to be low.. Shhh - don't tell TT
Thanks for the reply. Out of curiosity, is there a reason why its rare to see special day trade margin deals for the Eurex DAX while other volatile trading instruments like Emini TF, Nifty futures have lower margin requirements ? Just the same, I see the same difference in margin requirements between Brent Oil and Light Crude WTI futures...the Brent usually has 2x or more higher requirements although many "Pros" and institutional firms consider the Brent as the new benchmark between the two products.
Day trade margins are set to the level of comfort for our risk management systems to monitor and manage our customers positions. Obviously there are many factors involved in risk management, which many are unpredictable, but we have been working with retail traders for almost a decade...so we have lots of experience and have spent a lot of investment into our risk management technology. Im presently using CTS T4 for trading options on futures because they have charts on options. I know XTrader can display charts for options on futures. A friend of mine who signed up immediately when AMP offered XTrader Pro, told me that you had not enabled charts for options. Have you changed this yet?
Charting Options prices is crazy and useless. The key advantage to having Xtrader is access to: 1) Spread trading functionality 2) ADL for quick algo design and implementation. I'm still shell shocked why these functions would be available to the unwashed masses, me included. What's the catch? Has HFT killed the business already? Anybody running these functions thru AMP, please post your experiences.
Have you started to provide access to ttnet servers in London yet? I believe you only provide Chicago / NY IPs at the moment. Thanks
