Amp Futures or Mirus

  1. can't believe you guys are niggling over a few cents
I traded the S&P 500 futures contract when it first became available and
    Merrill Lynch charged $150 rt

personally I don't care about 'saving' 50 cents
I want reliability and excellent - ? - good customer service
since Mirus are the developer of ZenFire and supply other IBs with the feed
you can bet your bippy they're going to be very on top of reliability

when it comes to customer service, it's an unknown until one has a problem

of course companies never know when they accept a new client if they're going
to be dealing with a real duffus or an asshole rather than a normal understanding
person, and judging by the posts of some members here on ET, there's quite a few
I'd set my dogs on before ever I'd allow them to open an account with me

If traders didn't care about saving a few cents to 50 cents or more per contract CME seats wouldn't sell for $1.1 million and IOM seats for $400K. Traders doing major volume have to care about the total fees charged per contract because it has a direct effect on the bottom line.

I agree about the extra .50 cents, that adds up. Why throw your money away?

I would also recommend shopping around for TT feeds. I was quoted 4.75 at Mirus and AMP. Velocity at 3.98 w/TT feed is a good alternative. I demoed both platforms, the only difference is Zenfire updates the DOM like 40 times a second, and TT only updates 5 or 10 times a second. Fills are just as fast IMO, and .75 a contract is alot of $.

  7. while analyzing transaction cost, the real bottom line for the retail trader to consider
is when they complete their tax return - what deductable expenses are available to
offset some of the income tax payable

    from NinjaTrader Help:
    Different Data Feeds
Different data feeds produce different charts especially when using tick based intervals vs
time based intervals. Market data vendors each employ various methods for tick filtering,
throttling and time stamping. As a result, no data stream is 100% identical and thus can
cause subtle differences in charts. Since NinjaTrader supports many of the leading
brokerage and data feed technologies, its guaranteed that two traders using NinjaTrader
on different data feeds will have minor differences when plotting the same market and
    time interval.
    Real-Time Tick Filter
If you have the real-time tick filter enabled, it is possible that your offset percent (the
percent away a tick is in value from the last traded price to be considered a bad tick)
may be too tight and thus a good tick (gap up/down on session open for example) could
    be excluded from the bar.

Announcing today live streaming data from EUREX integrated with the Zen-Fire trading engine. The significance of this level of connectivity being available to the retail trading market is enormous. Customers seeking low latency and high speed trading can request a real time trading simulator from the AMP Trading site: http://www.ampfutures.com/ninja_trader.php

“Streaming market data will finally allow traders to see the true volatility and opportunities in the Eurex markets.

    Enhanced Broadcast Solution (EBS)
The new data feed EBS offers an innovative high-performance market data broadcast solution for un-netted public market data. The socket-based distribution mechanism features among others an order book depth of 10 for options (previously only inside market data was provided), an enhancement of order Book depth to 20 for benchmark futures (previously 10) and a new subscription model, allowing members to select individual market data of all product groups relevant for their business. Along with the launch of EBS, the new data feed CEF ultra+ of Deutsche Börse Market Data & Analytics was started. CEF ultra+ contains the same market depth as EBS but distributes Eurex trading data to non-Eurex members like data vendors also with lowest latency. It is enriched by a trade recovery functionality which is necessary for data vendors.
