  2. You have to realize this not the "left". These are extreme viewpoints no different than a Tucker Carlson viewpoint. The majority of people are often more center leaning from their left or right views so we should be careful that we stop over labelling what the left or right stands for.

  3. Except that a lot of the right leaning folks here have little or no problem with Carlson.

  4. And Carlson is a member of the right and speaks for a large part of the right, just as this professor speaks for a large part of the left. We cannot continue to pretend that these extremists aren't growing in number on both sides, and those closer to the middle are ever more likely to excuse, minimize, or completely ignore these extreme elements of their respective parties.
We see brand name republicans call out Trump and other extremists on the right from time to time. We're seeing that right now with regard to Syria. What I don't see is household name democrats calling out the lunacy of the radical left.

  5. And plenty of left leaning folks have no problem with open borders, abolishing ICE, believing every lunatic race baiter out there, the abject stupidity of believing everything a woman says without regard to evidence or facts, totally ignoring the breakdown of the black family with regard to inner city violence...shall I go on? We must admit that there is a growing number of people of all stripes who are becoming very comfortable in their willful ignorance.

  6. Ok Carlson is really far right.

I dont see any brand name republicans stepping forward to make any calling out, in fact the GOP has been silent on most of the things going on in the right media and in the White House. Paul Ryan et al became nuetered after the election. Trump never said a bad word about white supremacists who worship him whether he is responsible or not. Remember there are good people on both sides.

So no one is calling out the radical right or left. But the radical right or left is not the voice of the right or left. You are quoting an article by a professor at a university...that hardly rises to the level of a whole GOP sitting by as radical right people get to speak up llike they represent the party. The Dems did not say too many firemen are white, one professor did and why should anyone pay attention to that.

Trump found no malice or wrong in a group that was shouting out racist chants and wants to eliminate other races from the U.S. pool. The radical antifa has very few friends in the overall liberal side of the spectrum.

In this case it is not the same.
