Germany is a left-wing police state, with almost all conservative and anti-migrant speech banned. Time to get rid of the speech codes imposed by the occupation. It's been 80 years.
That statement is a clear dog whistle for far-right revisionism, framing post-war Germany’s democratic safeguards against extremism as illegitimate “occupation” laws. It’s a transparent attempt to reframe restrictions on hate speech as an attack on conservatism itself, when in reality, Germany’s laws are specifically designed to prevent a return to fascism*. If you truly believed in free speech, you would acknowledge that Germany’s restrictions were enacted by Germans, upheld by democratic institutions, and remain broadly supported by the public. But of course, that wouldn’t fit the narrative.
Liberation from fascism which as we know was that hateful anti-conservative socialism. Boo to the Nationalsozialist. And then roundly supported by Germans since the liberators handed control.
I've had @Tsing Tao calling me a Walter Mitty fantasist and a pathological liar for a week now, simply because he can't find moral high ground and has to resort to that tactic. He even made a weak jab about my poor attention to my 'sick' wife on not-Valentine’s Day in Colombia. Please try harder, @ipatent. You are like a fox calling for chicken wire factories to be closed for vital cost savings and efficency.
I said "please try harder". I mean I came up with an entertaining (international reviews are good) children's story this afternoon inspired by how you lads obviously never had anybody read you an Aesop's fable, or anything as kids. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/fox-lobby-for-security.383201/
US liberals want to adopt similar speech restrictions, and the 60 Minutes piece was part of this effort.
Hopefully the new conservative government will create a debate about rolling back some of the speech restrictions.
