Americans Have Lost VIRTUALLY ALL of Our Constitutional Rights

Makes sense in a Pareto kind of way.

To borrow an argument: so why are people dying to come to America?

  2. My experience with immigrants suggests several reasons...
    • they watch our movies and TV shows, and believe the US offers a higher quality of life
    • the belief that the US offers greater opportunities to improve one's lot - increase one's income, accumulate more *stuff*, support their families
    • citizens are blind to (or can't be bothered with) obvious opportunities, especially ones involving manual labor - landscaping, dry cleaning, nail salons, buy here/finance here car dealerships, among the many biz opps...
    • the belief the US has better educational opportunities
    • the belief the US has a better political and legal environment
    • the belief the US offers greater religious tolerance

Granted, a small number of immigrants are troublesome (in roughly the same proportion to the 99%/1% assertion I made above). But that's not an American-only issue - it's a statistical issue. A small part of any population is *bad* compared to the norm of that population.

The unfortunate thing is the that the 3rd/4th/5th generation immigrant turned NIMBY zealots paint all immigrants with the same brush - they're all illegal, they're all bad, and they're taking my job. Problem is, I don't see very many Americans signing up to be dishwashers, busboys/persons, farm workers, landscapers, maids/house cleaners, etc. Not any motivated Americans, anyways...

Most successful/wealthy cultures in history have had a subservient/slave/worker class - a class comprised of the poor, disfavored race, slaves, and immigrants - to do the work the favored class needs done/doesn't want to do themselves. They are more plentiful. They are cheaper. And most importantly, whether voluntarily or under duress, *willing* to do the work.

US Citizens have been trained since birth to consume, and you can't consume (buy the cars, houses, toys, etc or taking holidays, having fun at the lake on weekends, etc) on those wages - they need higher paying jobs. Hence the marriage of subservient/worker class and low paying labor jobs. A match made by necessity! You don't have to like it, but that's the way it is...

Americans seem to forget, gloss over, or are just plain ignorant of the fact the Puritans, Jamestown settlers, and all other future waves of colonists were illegal immigrants... Native Americans possessed and *owned* the lands in North America according to Roman Law and its descendant - English Common Law. The colonists settled illegally. Their populations swelled. They illegally took the land by forceful means, then created a new government that essentially legalized their actions. But the fact remains - the US was founded on illegal immigration..

I guess the real fears of rabid anti-immigrant zealots isn't jobs, crime, drugs, etc. Rather, it's the real possibility of an American Revolution #2 - the population of current classes of immigrants are going to swell, become the majority, and eventually take over the US. And possibly turn the white people into the subservient/worker class....

    Oh the irony...

  3. WHO'S GOING TO STAND UP FOR OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS?

Constitutional lawyer Jonathan Turley: “The painful fact is that Barack Obama is the president that Nixon always wanted to be. Four decades ago, Nixon was halted in his determined effort to create an ‘imperial presidency’ with unilateral powers and privileges. In 2013, Obama wields those very same powers openly and without serious opposition. The success of Obama in acquiring the long-denied powers of Nixon is one of his most remarkable, if ignoble, accomplishments... Obama has not only openly asserted powers that were the grounds for Nixon's impeachment, but he has made many love him for it. More than any figure in history, Obama has been a disaster for the U.S. civil liberties movement. By coming out of the Democratic Party and assuming an iconic position, Obama has ripped the movement in half. Many Democrats and progressive activists find themselves unable to oppose Obama for the authoritarian powers he has assumed.”

REPORT: OBAMA BRINGS CHILLING EFFECT ON JOURNALISM
    BY BRETT ZONGKER
    ASSOCIATED PRESS

"In the Obama administration's Washington, government officials are increasingly afraid to talk to the press," wrote Downie, now a journalism professor at Arizona State University. "The administration's war on leaks and other efforts to control information are the most aggressive I've seen since the Nixon administration, when I was one of the editors involved in The Washington Post's investigation of Watergate."

Downie interviewed numerous reporters and editors, including a top editor at The Associated Press, following revelations this year that the government secretly seized records for telephone lines and switchboards used by more than 100 AP journalists. Downie also interviewed journalists whose sources have been prosecuted on felony charges. Those suspected of discussing classified information are increasingly subject to investigation, lie-detector tests, scrutiny of telephone and email records and now surveillance by co-workers under a new "Insider Threat Program" that has been implemented in every agency.

  6. "Possibly"? Already happening (happened?).

With the parasite class already in the majority, the producer class effectively has no vote. We do, however, GET TO WORK AND PAY HIGH TAXES TO SUPPORT THE PARASITE CLASS AND THE RULING ELITES. It won't be obvious to the oblivious and greedy until they have taken everything from anybody who has anything left.

That's a form of slavery IMV.

    Where is Our Amnesty?

    By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | October 22nd, 2013 at 02:28 PM |

Now that Obama thinks he has successfully remade the American economy and permanently transformed the relationship between the citizen and government, he is working on restructuring society itself. He plans to move on from Obamacare to immigration deform.

Conservatives must ensure that the focus remains on Obamacare. No immigration-related legislation. Period. The idea that we can craft a positive bill with Obama in the White House, irrespective of your view on the issue, is absurd.

However, there is one thing we can learn from the immigration debate. Almost every supposed precondition for amnesty and the pathway to citizenship under the Senate bill is subject to suspension for humanitarian purposes, to ensure family unity, the public interest, or personal hardship.

So given that so many of us will lose jobs, suffer from reduced income, lose our health insurance and access to doctor, pay unaffordable premiums, and lose our self-respect, where is our amnesty? Where is our waiver for purposed of hardship, family unity, and humanitarian concerns?

Are we less valuable than illegal immigrants? Evidently so. To make matters worse, illegal immigrants are still receiving $4.2 billion in refundable tax credits from the same IRS that is taxing our health insurance.

This is not the country for which our grandparents stormed the beaches of Normandy.

Last week, I wrote about my personal story losing health insurance as a result of Obamacare. I’d like to share with you a letter I received from “Bill in Washington.” This is a letter Bill sent to Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell. It is a broad perspective of Obamacare and a government-take-all society from a man who is losing his battle with cancer. It is a quintessential American perspective. It is what we must continue fighting for in the coming months.

We must not steer the legislative battle away from Obamacare for one moment. Whether its tax reform, abstract entitlement reform, or so-called immigration reform, nothing will matter if Obamacare is not destroyed.

We must continue fighting for amnesty – amnesty for We the People from a tyrannical government.
