Uh-oh, when headlines like that appear in the Wall Street Journal, that generally means that the smart players are trying to sell their long positions, initiated at the beginning of the uptrend (the accumulation phase) and go short big time... Just my opinion folks.

Remember the infamous "The Death of Equities" on the cover of Business Week, back in 1979, for instance? The S&P 500 managed to return 8000% since then (dividends reinvested). Not bad for a dead body.
A few studies suggest that fading financial headlines news does not give the trade any significant edge. No doubt these "studies" were sponsored by the smart money...
It reminds me of my favorite corollary and not just because I invented it. "Winning isn’t everything; it's the only thing" is the original saying. My corollary is timing isn't everything; it is the only thing.
