America held hostage

My point is, no one I meet with believes that future taxes are going to be so onerous, and no one with an entrepreneurial bone in their body is making decisions on "maybe" taxes will be too high. Entrepreneurs "go for it". Maybe the CFO worries about it, but if he does I never hear it.

  2. The writer gives a fairly good critique of capitalism, it's flaws and short comings, and I agree the growth and compounded profits simply aren't sustainable. What he doesn't do is give a viable alternative. This is not unusual, because as of yet, there isn't one. Until we address the basic human elements of greed, corruption, and lust for power, all systems will eventually fail.
One could argue that the people at the top of the food chain are now so wealthy they could quite easily start giving back rather than hoarding. It's an easy argument to make saying, gee fellas, ya think you could get by on 900,000,000 a year rather than a billion? Save a few jobs in the process. They would counter with the slippery slope argument. You want 100,000,000 this year, and over time you'll bleed me dry and I won't be able to employ anyone at all. It's a valid argument, especially considering population growth, an ever expanding need for social safety nets, and radical leftists who believe income parity is actually attainable across the board. It's not! Somebody has to be in charge.
Eventually the non-bending capitalist society will eat itself just as non-bending socialist societies have done. It's just a question of who's doing the eating, but at the end of the day there's simply nothing left to eat. You would think there would be a way to blend the two, but the fanatics on either side won't hear of it.

  3. As expected, the president caved to the financial terrorists holding America hostage. I suppose he had too. It should be noted that even though I disagree with his decision to run from the bullies, I must commend him for showing some compassion for the working class. Rather than play the typical political tug-o-war, he decided the people were more important than the theater, which is something the radical right republicans just can't do. It's all about politics to them.
And mark my words, they'll be playing the same game of extortation two years from now. For now, the flesh peddlers have a very eager pool of unempoyed workers to exploit with slave wages and zero benefits, just as planned. Let the trickeling begin.
All that said, I am extremely bullish on the market now. DOW will easily be in the 13,500 to 14,000 range next year. Baring some geo-political event, it's all up from here for the next 12-18 months, but the radical right has a difficult balancing act to pull off. The economy comes back too strong and Obama looks good for 2012. It will be interesting to watch them play the game.

The Obama regime has blessed the Bush Tax Cuts. That might be his *first* sensible act since taking office.

Looks like republicans agreed to extend unemployment benefits.

Overall probably the right things to do.

  8. I've heard/read the word "hostage" more this week than at any time during the course of my entire life.

Obama, in addition to everyone of his media bootlickers: “It’s tempting not to negoitate with hostage takers unless the hostage gets harmed… In this case, the hostage was the American people.”

And we have a new one, along with terrorists, "bomb throwers".

Brought to you by The Uniter, Barack Hussein Obama.
