Because of the risks and consequences of providing fake numbers in the US are much greater than in China, particularly if their government is actively seeking dominance in a particular market. Alternatively, if the books are cooked by individual high level executives, they're flight risk and safety living in the West is much greater than a US executive seeking refuge in... China?

nonsense. pwc is the auditor, largest shareholders are foreign investors, market is there to see.

as for individuals, if you are a seasoned observer, you know their wealth is tied in the stock holdings, not salary. how much cash you can carry onto a flight? if they come to us after a major accounting fraud, would the sec not go after them?

No one is going to believe you when you say zirp created this.....
I have said a million times that the reason we have multiple trillion dollar companies and money being spent like this is because of the fed. We also have a housing bubble thanks to the fed and a crypto bubble thanks to the fed but most do not believe the fed has created this. They believe this to be entirely organic growth that this achievement in growth has happened because these vomoanies achieved everything on their own. Thats completely false. The Fed spending trillions to prop up equities and the economy is what gave these markets the great wealth factor and a boom to fairytale cryptocurrency.....strip out the fed zirp and trillions of printed money and we would be in a downward serial thenlast 3 or 4 decades!!

You're of course right, that nobody will believe, but the next question is what can we do about it.

I know that you hate Bitcoin, but really ask yourself, if the government has the ability to create money, why wouldn't they always choose to print and distribute it to friends? All the problems that you have been screaming about for a decade are fixed with a hard money that no government can control.

You're delusional. And your forecasts over decades prove this. That's the bottom line here. Again, you don't do any research, it's obvious, when I confronted you on AAPL sales you ignored that data because you didn't want proof that your posted theories on AAPL were complete crap.

Are you also a hoarder? Just wondering...
Aren't you tired of looking at life as a glass half empty and blaming the Feds for keeping it half full?

Alibaba will always be a concern because it's an HK listed company subject to the whims of government intervention, as has happened in the past. No Chinese company is safe from that risk and foreign investors account for it.
Uncertainty isn't limited to the Chinese government, but also to corporate leadership malfeasance. While that's not a China specific issue, China has a long history of placing profits over any other considerations with no concerns for consequences.
PWC is the western stamp of approval for legitimacy, but make no mistake, PWC works for Alibaba, not the other way around.
This doesn't mean Alibaba is not a worthy investment, I traded it for a couple of years when Jack Ma was a superstar. Poor guy.

    that's kind of idiotic statement

AMZN costs what it costs not because of their selling goods business but because of AWS
without AWS they market cap would not be much different from walmart and all those statements would hold true
